S&B 9mm 115 gr?

Anyone have experience with Sellier & Benoit 9mm ammo? It appears to be reasonably priced. I just bought a Colt Commander( I have a commander sized holster and needed a filler) and am looking for something to shoot. Since I am 78, that is all I may be doing is just looking. I do not seem to be able to stop myself from picking up pistols. Am I a pistolholic?

I'd buy S&B ammo even if it was (usually is) more expensive than the econo brands.
S&B has a bit more oomph than the econo brand stuff. I have never had an issue in thousands of rounds fired of S&B. For reloading the primer pockets are on the tight side maybe this is because the primer pocket seem to be cut with no chamfer.
I have only reloaded 9x19 during politician induced shortages and panics.

Cowboy, I wish I was only 78!! I didn't become a pistolholic until I was 80 when I got my LTC. Since then I've bought 5 pistols to go with the 2 I already had. I look almost every day trying to decide what I will buy next. So yes you can become addicted!! However, it's been a great hobby for me since I had to give up my fishing hobby due to a very bad back. I'm 82 now and try to shoot a couple of times a month. Good luck with your addiction!

A buddy of mine bought a case of S&B 115gr ammo a while back. I think its about gone now, but was good stuff. We ran it in a bunch of different guns with no issues.

Nah you're not a pistolholic (not sure what that is anyways); you're a handgun aficionado (sounds much more discerning like connoisseur or cognosente).

To answer your other question, I have used S&B ammo for many years now. Really good quality ammo, I typically find it at the local gun shows for a decent price.

I’ve fired 5+ thousands rounds of S&B 9mm. Some 115gr. but mostly 124gr. Can’t recall ever having a issue with it. I buy it whenever my last thousand round lot starts running low.
Seems like sgammo.com usually has it in stock at a good price.

I have shot allot of it in the past and, still have about 500 rounds of their 9mm makarov tucked away and 300 rounds of the 115 gr 9mm; Never a problem with it.

I've never had anything but great luck with anything by S&B. Military-quality or better all around. Even nice brass and tight primer pockets, if you reload. Econo-line Federal and Winchester seems to loosen in the primer pocket far earlier.
My favorite is their 124gr, but that's a personal preference. What I have left stays in the 'cache can' because I know I can rely on it, it will last forever, and the box is about the minimum size possible.
Keeps more in there for the space versus the American brands with plastic or foam trays.

I buy both ammo and primers from S&B. All great so far. Reputation is excellent, I've heard very very few complaints.

I was an instructor on a contract for some advanced training for the National Guard. The unit we trained didn't have access to the amount of ammo required, so we (the contract company) obtained thousands of rounds of this stuff (the cost was added to the total bill for the guard) for the Soldiers to use with their M9's. It worked fine for us.

S&B tends to be my preferred brand. It's at a sweet spot in the loading, and is very consistent. And as stated above, the boxes are really nice and compact. That might seem like a minor detail, but if you store a bunch, it makes a difference.

I like their 8mm Mauser and .30-06 too. They offer an interesting jacketed, stepped wad-cutter bullet in many rifle chamberings that punches a super clean hole. Great company and product!

I have shot a fair amount of it (9mm 115 grain) and it shoots and functions just fine.

It shoots a bit high and to the right in my Walther PPQ but groups just fine; so usually I use Aguila just because the gun and my grip seem to work best with that ammo.

I have also shot S&B 45 ACP and it is just fine, for me.

I tend to buy the 115 and 124 fmj when there is free shipping at Natchez. Lately, I have been getting them for 8.99/50. Makes it real easy to add to the plinking stash.

I love S&B in any caliber it use to be more affordable compared to U.S.A ammo but now is higher priced compared to other foreign brands like Prvi Partizan for example.
