Anybody had any experience with Security Industries of America? I have a stainless snub nose 38special made by them. Got it in a trade. I was wondering if you folks have experience or information on these pistols.

they came out with their version of the S & W M-60 and they looked pretty close except the trigger guard looked slightly different. they came out with a 357 mag version of it as well. I think that if anything they were underfunded and people weren't ready for a snub nose 357. this has been a long time ago like in the 1970's if I remember right

Security Industries was located in New Jersey and made a 5 shot stainless J frame size revolver in .38 Special and .357 Magnum. I think they were in business from around 1973 to 1978.

The Security Industries was an excellent design of a stainless steel snubbie meant to compete with the S&W M-60.

The main external difference was the trigger guard that taped toward the front. The main internal difference was the option of the .357 Mag chambering and the changed geometry of the action parts which produced a better trigger pull than the S&W J-frame.

The problem was that they QC wasn't consistent as that tried to move production away from handfitting and hired folks without a lot of gunmaking experience. Some side plates were hardly fitted....but the trigger was still outstanding.

If the example is visually acceptable, it was likely a good acquisition

9mm said most of it. The only thing I have to add is the 357s shot themselves into destruction after a few hundred rounds.

I bought one for my mom in '79. She didn't shoot it much, but I thought it was a nice gun. I don't know whatever happened to it.
