I have had 3 of them and overall they were good guns.
I bought my first in @ 1979 and then my brother bought one. We both put PACHMYR grips on them and had a trigger slick. This turned out to be a very popular gun with the crowd I hung out with with most of them buying the Undercover .38 Special.
Even now, my family uses the 6 shot stainless Police Undercover as the gun of choice for some female members, the others went with the 5 shot Undercover.
I traded one to my dad who did not like the spurless hammer on a TAURUS that my brother and I bought for him. I would not have made that trade unless I had complete confidence in the Undercover. Previously it had been my car gun and occasional off duty carry gun.
If you find a good one, it is a nice pistol that will be more reasonablly priced than a S&W J frame.
