Gents:

Need some recommendations for a quality stock and tube kit for an 18 inch middy. Parameters:

1. I prefer adjustable, but will consider fixed. If you think I should go fixed, please sell me on it,
2. Want a quality wobble free stock that can give me an acceptable weld,
3. Under $125.
4. The stock has to be the color pink (just kidding;).

Thanks.

I have a mil spec tube and a Mag Pul adjustable stock. I can't remember the model, but it has an extra clamp that takes the wobble out of the stock. Cheek weld with a scope is marginal, it would need some extra material.

I have both. The collapsible stock is handier. Nothing wrong about a fixed stock. I suggest you get whatever you are leaning for and try it. Later on you can try another if you don't like the first one. It is not that difficult or expensive. I don't see any accuracy difference shooting with scopes at moderate ranges. Others may have different experiences.

I've got the Magpul ACS-L. I like it a lot. It has a friction lock for ZERO wobble and provides a decent cheek weld. I have a red dot right now so cheek weld isn't much of an issue for me but it is certainly better than a standard collapsible stock.

They make them for Mil-spec or commercial tubes.

All of mine wobble except the Magpul UBR, PRS, and A1 rifle stocks. ACS, ASC-l, STR, CTR, LMT, B4...all wobble. Sorry.

I'd never sell anyone on the fixed stock, I'd rather sell the fact that stock wobble is harmless, possibly even handy in improvised postitions. Easier to line the rifle up if your crushing the stock. Like:

UBR complete lower kit (stock kit is OOS):

Sounds like the UBR is what you're after. Too bad 'bout the price.

But even the UBR has some give to it, any adjustable does.

Many shooters do prefer fixed stocks still:

Usually with old school carbine grips:

My box stock Colt 6920 is always shot with the stock fully extended. The only times I can shorten a carbine stock, is if I'm shoooting a carbine with a 12"+ freefloat keymod rail.
