Someone got a permit from the Orange County Sheriff with a rather "lame" reason.

"I shoot a lot and take training classes, so why not give me a permit?"

It does also just depend on region in CA you live in. Packing.org revealed a few shockers (Culver City is shall issue).

Sounds like here in Nazi Jersey. Unless you are politically connected or carry huge sums of taxable cash you don't count. They just hope that you roll into the gutter and bleed out quietly without leaving a stain on the sidewalk.
