Time to stock up on ammo?

It is silly to think that ammo will still be plentiful if Hillary wins the election. If you have started buying, now is the time. Its probably too late to get all you will want. There isn't a panic yet only because Hillary hasn't won yet.

If she wins, you can expect short supply. If she loses, the ammo you buy now isn't going to go bad.

There is absolutely no good reason not to stock up now.

My sub gun season just started and I'm looking to switch from Winchester to S&B, so I will be "stocking up" as in buying in bulk to save money for ammo I'm going to use in competitions. In addition I will probably buy some M193 since I am low. The only thing I actually ever stocked up on for political reasons in M855 and I have over 3000 rounds of that.

stocking up on tools and food is a never ending and ongoing process here. certain events have given me cause to accelerate some procurement, but nothing that I would consider to be a "panic." I've long applied the "2 is 1 and 1 is none" mantra to both tools and food, and that has served me well with creating a cache of both.

I'm covered as my brother still has all those big tubs of freeze dried beans left over from that Y2K thang.

Hi...
I have sufficient ammunition and reloading components to last for several years for target shooting, hunting or what have you.
I will continue to stockpile ammunition and reloading components as possible.
I think it only prudent.

There is NEVER a bad or good time to stock up. One should always be stocked.
My SOP is buy two of what I just shot one of.
I went to the range yesterday and shot two 50 round boxes of 9mm. I'm going out to buy four this weekend.

I will tell you this much, I bought $1000 worth on Monday because the last time I was stuck scrambling for ammo and couldn't find any unless it was at some ridiculous prices that I would not pay. So, while I am not panicking yet I am starting to build some up. I don't know how this is going to go but I would be as prepared as possible. For what it's worth I think ammo will go before guns this time around. The bad news is I have some sub guns and SBRs that I want to finish but not sure if I will be able to do so in time. As all of us I only have so much money to spend on this crap at a time.

I'm good on reloading components, I just bought a Ruger 9e on a blowout sale for $289 and I just bought another AR upper from PSA for $246.

That's the stuff I'm going after right now.

My Wally World is fully stocked and even has a ton of .380 which is supposed to be in short supply! Me I am and have been fully stocked since early 2008 and have added to it in the years past when things were reasonably priced.
Time to Pop Some POP-Corn!

On a positive note.

If there is no ridiculous panic, then we are in for some great sales next summer. The supply chain appears caught up and chugging along nicely to me. I would like to see Cabelas offer S&B primers for $17.99 with free shipping and $20 hazmat again. That was a great deal. Berry's plated bullets were also priced low. Many other projectiles were on sale. Didn't catch any powder on sale but it has been plentiful.

Supply and demand has been in our favor of late. Sometimes you're the windshield and sometimes you're the bug. It has been nice to be the windshield. Well, my perspective since I started reloading in the middle of this last banic.

I just made an order for a good amount of match ammo as it was very good price and even if I don't shoot it for years I doubt I'll ever regret the purchase. I'm not preparing for the Zombie apocalypse, but I want to be able to shoot for enjoyment and remember what happened after Sandy Hook. The ammo and component supply has really only gotten decent this year after being tight and expensive since that event and .22's still aren't available for a good price in any quantity. I'm hoping for a trump win and some killer deals on ammo and gun pricing afterwards, but I'm not taking the chance of being caught with an understocked ammo cabinet.

I just picked up 1,000 rounds of Lake City M193, then I saw some IMI M193 at a good price and bought 3,000 rounds of it too, leaving 5,000 for someone else.

I don't think things are drying up yet, but selection seems to be getting a bit scarce, especially for the stuff with really good bang for your buck. It looks like people are starting to think "this might be hard to get later, and prices haven't gone up yet, so why don't I just go ahead and accelerate a purchase I know I'll make next year anyway."

I recently laid in reloading supplies to keep me shooting for a few years. Not because of the election, but because of sales and the money being there for it.

So I'm hopefully all set to ride out any panic that might occur.

Things are well in the desert, just waiting for a lower, then choosing a stock.

I live so far out that there is no local gun store, so most of my business is with Powder Valley for reloading components. Online vendors seem to have good inventory for both ammunition and reloading supplies.

We heard the same thing back when Bill Clinton was elected. The panic buying has gone on for all the years a Democrat was in office, and I would say today the same thing I said back then; if you don't already have a stash, you are behind the eight ball.

My excuse is that my wife has taken such a huge interest in shooting now (her AR15 and various revolvers/pistols) that I MUST keep the inventory up. That means for every 50 rounds sent down range I buy 100 (with her total support)!

I am mostly content with my ammo supply. Maybe a bit more 7.62x39 for my 3 lovely Yugo SKS.'

That may be a thought. And .44 Mag for the Win Trapper and the Smith 629 Classic..

.223 could be improved on by a few grand for the M&P Sport AR 15.

That's about it.

Was at Cabelas in KC today. No panic there. Lots of 22, gun counter not really busy. Talked to one older guy who was buying his first concealed carry and a father/son buying the kid his first shotgun and all the trimmings.

Bought 4x20 boxes of Hornady 9x19 150GR HST 'Micro' on sale. That will make my supply 100 rounds which will be enough. By the way don't forget to vote. If DJT was to win it would be the biggest "f..k you" political statement in US political history. That alone is worth it.

the panic is there. compare the prices you see online too those back in june or july.

i ordered 30,000 small pistol primers and 5,000 large pistol primers in july for about 2.7 cents each shipped.

in july i got 20lbs of tite group @ 15$ a pound. and 10 lbs of WSF @ 16$ a pound.

i ordered 3,000 rounds of federal 223 @ 24 cents a round in july.

2 cases of GP11 for 480$---its completely gone now

its used to be common to find 22lr shipped for 5.5-6.0 cents each now its what 7 cents before shipping?

Prices seem the same at SGAmmo as they were two months ago on 9mm. But reloaders probably are more likely to be ahead of the masses.

I went to a show in Louisville yesterday and it was as sleepy as I have ever seen one. Attendance was low and there didn't appear to be much buying or selling. Prices weren't inflated either.

I figured this close to the election there would be more interest, but happily I was wrong.

In 2008 I was caught a day late and a dollar short. Since then I have fixed that problem.
Right now the shelves are full and there appears to be no panic buying, but that can all change
in an instant . The shelves will empty in just a day or two. You should have been buying over the last 8 years.
