He's a businessman. Absent an executive order, I wouldn't be concerned. It takes much more than a president discussing anything to make it happen, and he knows it. It will be a long, bitter series of arguments, with a few token scraps tossed to the libs, if anything.
Well, unfortunately right after asking for an assault weapons ban he rejected national reciprocity, at least in the same bill he wanted the AWB in . So apparently he is rejecting something’s, but I do expect him to backpedal on the assault weapons ban, probably rather soon.Let's not overreact yet.
He's shown that during these sessions that he says things that are taken the wrong way. I suspect that he does this as it's a form of brain storming. In a good brain storming session NOTHING is rejected and all thoughts are accepted until they're paired down.

I don't know what to think.
What I do know is that he was clear in that he said that adding national reciprocity in the bill will kill it.
I have been hammering Representatives at the rate of a dozen per day, every day. I also have been Tweeting our President, explaining to him that "we" put him there, and if he takes away our rights, we can and will stop supporting him and his family, "who are a bunch of screw-ups to begin with". The sons Daughter and son in law, are totally incapable of even getting a security clearance that 1.5 million Americans have, "top Secret", hell I had one when I worked as a Military subcontractor when I was in College. So if Jarred can't even get what I had, he's is compromised and should be out of there. his goes down the line, as everyday he loses someone in his immediate circle. Yesterday Hicks or Hobs, the one who backed up several of his lies.I recommend that each of us - if concerned - submit that concern to our President and your representatives. Voluminous concerns voiced in a respectful manner are important in our form of government. The White House submittal website is:

I could see a system of self-clearance, in which, as a prospective gun buyer, you would go online to a NICS portal, enter your personal identification information, and receive an approval code (PIN number). You would give this number to the gun seller (non-FFL), who would verify it on the NICS portal, and be given a confirmation number for his records. No record of the gun would be kept. This is similar to what Sen. Tom Coburn proposed after Sandy Hook. The background checks are coming no matter what and I wish 2a advocates would see that and push for a clean bill (that doesn't include registration and tracking) which will deleverage registration which doesn't have momentum on it's own. Background checks in themselves, without registration, is at the worst inconvenient but way more desirable then the registration that they want to sneak along with it.
