you're my only definte, so if you want we can just meet at my house and BarBeQue afterwards. I'll come up with a defintive plan (besides the fact I WILL be going shooting that day) in the next day or two.

Check this out - I'm not going to say any names or anything but some cat in the firearms lube business that wants us to test out some new C.L.P. product and is sending me a box of samples.
Should be interesting.

It very well could be, 12V... Did he give you any details about the product?
Because he was really vague with me.
We shall see! We will stress test the crap out of it... Utah is a harsh place for a gun to live and work in.
Winters are cold as hell.
Summers are hot as hell.
CCW guns get sweaty.
Open carried guns get broiled.
And all the guns when shot can get dusty, gritty, and flat out filthy because even in the mountians, we are still in the middle of a desert.
This cat must be super confident in his product.
Because he was really vague with me.

Small change in plans for me... I'll be there in my silver Jeep Cherokee alone. Might bring Ranger, but he gets gunshy. When the guns go off, he has to curl up around my feet.

(I hope a bunch are going friday, so we can stake out a decent area for the saturday only people.)
Depending on my brother I may still need off-pavement assistance in the transportation dept.:banghead: If it comes down to it, I've got a big backpack and strong legs I guess.
(If you see a white hatchback 1989 mustang parked on the side of the dirt road heading in to the area, and a 200lb. bald guy that is about 5'7" with a camo NATO pack and a couple slinged rifles hoofin' it, give him a lift in, will ya?)

I'm ultra-pissed that I've got to work on Saturday morning... hopefully I can get off around noon to buzz up there.
I even bought a high-pistol-caliber dueling tree just for this trip to have some fun with you guys. *sigh*

Ok……..we are getting close. I am excited. I have a bunch of random thoughts/questions I’ll lay out for you in this post. Right now it looks like me and BIL are a go for Friday night. However we may decide to just head up early Saturday morning. I say that because I don’t get off work until 6pm on Friday. We will stay over Saturday night for sure.
Does anyone plan on putting out some paper plates or signs to direct us in?
Can someone post the directions to the general area?
Does anybody else have motorolla (or similar radios)? I have the ones with channels and sub channels. I’ll propose Channel 7 Sub 28 as this is one that I use often. I’ll have those with me if anyone else wants to bring theirs. Other ideas are welcome.
Does anyone want to start compiling a list of cell phone numbers by PM? Everyone might not have coverage up there, so if we can have a list of phone numbers of those who are headed there. We might could guide in the “lostâ€.
I plan on bringing a table, chairs, various camping gear and plenty of ammo. I have a few cardboard cutouts for target backers. Also thinking about grabbing some clay pigeons. I don’t have a launcher, but they might make some good reactive targets.
Start thinking of your favorite shooting games. For example, here are a couple that we like to do. You and your opponent draw from concealment on command. Whoever is first to break the clay pigeon at 10 or 15 yards wins and moves on to the next opponent. Also we like to take a life sized cardboard cutout. When someone calls “drawâ€, you have to draw and shoot “two to the body one to the headâ€. This is timed and your shots must be placed correctly for a score. Anyways……….I am sure there are a million of them. I just thought things like this would be fun.
Bowling pins…………. If some of you have time, hit your local bowling allys and ask for some old pins. Might have to pay a little for them. I’ll visit a couple to see if I can get any.
There is still room for a couple of people in my Suburban if anyone wants to ride with us and donate a little for gas that would be great!

I'll be heading out Friday night too.
Well, heck, I don't work FRiday either. Looks like I'll be heading up Friday. Corriea, when are you headingup? I'll follow you guys. Also, I can help you and Skyder tote up any WMD's you guys might have. Looks like it'll just be me in my car, so If someone wants to meet me somewhere I have no problem helping to carry camping gear, or guns.
Questions, with this being a shooting event, are we going to restrict alcohol? Or could I bring some beer? For the non-shooting entertainment.

I'm not sure when I'll be coming in, and considering the Jeep, it might be an adventure just getting there... but you are more than welcome to ride with me any time.
I just got a box of samples of lube cleaner protectant... I wiped down my Cougar and put some in it. It's not bad... worth testing to the extreme. Tests see if this stuff can handle Utah back country.

Crude, we will be leaving from Midvale, probably between 2:00 and 3:00. Would that work?
On alchohol, personally I don't drink, but I don't get offended if anybody else wants to. Provided that they do it once all of the guns are put away and it is BS time around the campfire time. I do worry though when the guns are put away, the keg is tapped, and then somebody feels the need to show somebody else one of their guns. I know some folks who put a 10mm hole through their refridgerator that way.

Well, I'm too young to drink, and I don't drink anyway. I'm always available for a "designated safety officer" or whatnot... that is, if I can get my fat butt off work and up to Strawberry.

It seems very probable that Goet and I will be up there sometime friday morning probably around 10 or 11, depending on which scenic route we take. Will do some scouting around for shooting area. Im under the impression we will be shooting and camping in slighty two different areas.
the shooting area may not make the best camp site, and vice versa. Not sure if I want to wear my earplugs, when Im cooking the good stuff on the bbq. Will also keep an eye out for the white mustang Ben.
