TGF,
I recommend
donating directly to VCDL, using their web site at
vcdl.org. They (we; I have been a member for years) have a totally volunteer-run organization, with no leased offices; everything is run by the volunteers from their homes. The best statement on this topic, and how frugal the VCDL is is from President Philip Van Cleve during his online interview with GOA's John Crump on
Fireside Chat #47 on Youtube that took place on January 8, 2020.
When sending money, you can say it is for the legal defense activities, but I prefer just open donation. VCDL has several cooperating law firms and I am not sure how easy it would be to send money directly to one or more, depending on how they have split up the work.
Also, if you have not done so already, please
subscribe to the VA Alert, at least until we get through the bulk of the current mess. That will keep you abreast of all the latest plans, including if there are last minute changes on carry options at the Capitol. You can un-subscribe at any time, and VCDL shares the mailing list with no one else.
Thank you for the support from Texas and your family in Virginia.
