WA governor signs big gun control package, including 'assault weapons' ban: 'No one needs an AR15'

BELLEVUE, WA – Responding quickly to the adoption of House Bill 1240 by the Washington Legislature and Gov. Jay Inslee signing it into law, the Second Amendment Foundation today filed a federal lawsuit challenging the new statute on Second and Fourteenth Amendment grounds, and is asking the court for preliminary and permanent injunctions.

The complaint was filed in U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington. The case is known as Hartford v. Ferguson. Joining SAF are the Firearms Policy Coalition, Sporting Systems, a Hazel Dell retailer, and three private citizens, Brett Bass, Douglas Mitchell and Lawrence Hartford, for whom the case is named. They are represented by Seattle attorney Joel Ard.

At any rate, I watched the tragic comedy of the bill-signing circus, er, "ceremony," this morning. Never have I heard so many lies, distortions, disinformation, misinformation nor seen so many tears at an event that was not a funeral.
Wonder who paid for all the gun-control activists to fly up here? Bloomberg? Soros?

Washington has had a requirement to take an online class before purchasing semi auto rifles for the last couple years. It's a 2 minute basic safety quiz.
I think the new law is a little more involved.

the safety course is online with a question during the state background check that says… “Did you take the safety course”

that’s was with the semi-Auto assault weapons purchase, it’s probably going to be the same.

All Political Grand Standing stuff. We literal have thousands die from drugs OD here and they just decriminalize med amounts of hard drugs. So save lives… NO… just showing the loyalty to the clan

anyways, was at the gun shop today. The owner was turning people’s online order FFL transfer away because of the signing at 11am

You can't buy a gun without showing you have had safety training in the last 5 years? Residents there who buy guns regularly have to get trained every 5 years? Guns aren't that complicated. Do they think Washingtonians are that stupid? Are they making you guys take a new driving test evey 5 years, too?
 
Washington state is a lost cause. Recent passage of truly horrible anti parental rights legislation makes that glaringly clear.
I will not expand on that due it being mostly-but not entirely- off topic; this thread is about undermining the rights of law abiding citizens.

The humidity is pretty oppressive from May through September. Is it better than freezing up North, meh.
Nowhere has perfect weather, I suppose. At least hurricanes give you plenty of warning, unlike twisters that pop up suddenly.
On the plus side, we in SWFL are pretty much in the clear on most nuclear fallout maps.....
