I went and purchased 200 rounds of .45 ammo today from WalMart and the guy behind the counter asked me for my ID. I figured, "no big deal... I'm just getting carded like when I buy anything alcohol related." But then I got to thinking that I've never had to do this before. I mentioned this to the guy behind the counter and he stated that he was one of the bad guys who swiped cards whenever the machine asks for them. He then stated that it was solely for age checking purposes though.
For some reason, this doesn't sit well with me. If I go to the package store and they want to check my age, they look at my birthdate on my ID, do some simple math and then return the card with a thank you.
Now this just doesn't sit too well with me. I feel a little like something got pulled over on me. Am I being silly here?
