What did you shoot today?

Shot my carry gun, Glock 27, sporting some just installed 'Night Fision Perfect dot' (https://www.nightfision.com/product/night-fision-perfect-dot-tritium-night-sights-for-glock-90) sights. I really like them. I was skeptical about the 'blacked-out' rear, was recommended to me, but I think I do prefer them. My eye was immediately pulled and focused to the front sight. I was shooting outdoors on a beautiful afternoon so light was bright and clear. I've looked at the sights in the dark and they show as 3 dot, all the same size, crisp and bright. Anyway, happy with the change from factory, I really think these are an improvement.

Been cleaning and re-arranging stuff in the safe and pulled out my late Father-in-laws old Winchester 69 rifle. He had waged a long running war with the squirrels in his yard using rat shot so the bore is less than pristine. Loaded up 5 rounds of 22 long Kleenbore, (with the nickle plated cases ;)) and dinged the dingers out back from 25 yards.
Think I'll give it a good cleaning here soon, sight it in with some standard velocity long rifle rounds and take it squirrel hunting this year.
Heck, with these new glasses the old peep sight works pretty good.

2 AR15's, Ruger Ranch 300 B-O, Mossberg MVP 223, S&W M&P 22, Glock 19. Everything worked fine- time to start killing some piggies!

Hi...
Spent the early morning at one of the local gun clubs where my son and I are members.
Shot clay birds for about an hour...as usual more misses than hits. But good practice and great fun.
Used up a couple if boxes of clay birds and 2/3 of a .30cal ammo can full of 12ga shells.
Then we went over to the handgun range a bunch of .45ACP handguns. We were testing my son's latest handloads that he produced on our Hornady LnL that is set up for large primer. It looks like he has figured out the bullet seating and taper crimp issues he has been having. He is gaining a lot of experience running the progressive. His handloads chambered and fired in five different handguns with excellent accuracy.
We probably shot somewhere around 125-150 rounds out of the 250 rounds he loaded last weekend.

I was at the Whittington Center today shooting at the white buffalo with my Remington 700 in .308.

Savage 223rem with reloads and savage mark II heavy barrel with federal auto match. Never been a 22lr fan but I am now.

Sat. 5/18/19: Tonight was revolver night and 148 grain wadcutter night. Shot my Smith model 15 as well as two snubs, a Taurus 605 and a Smith 642. Primary interest was getting practice with my carry gun the 642 which I carry with Remington wadcutters.

5/18/19 Took my 12yo daughter to the range and blasted some Peeps with a .22 and .410. Good time had by all (except maybe the Peeps)…. Today (5/19/19) I took my XT to the trap club and shot a round. Due to the weather, a lot more gossip than lead went downrange.

Broke out the DWs today, a Valkyrie in 9mm and VBob in .45.

Also my M1A to test out some handloads. Fun was had.

Hi...
Shot a few .45Colt, .357Mags and .44Spl revolvers this morning at the gun club.
Finally got my new to me .45Colt Contender dialed in at 25yds. Hopefully will get to shoot it at 50yds next time around.
Continuing to have issues seeing the front sight on my revolvers...guess I am going to need to paint the front sight on the Ruger BlackHawks.

Not sure what to do about the Vaqueros and Uberti Cimarron revolvers. My son is able to see the front sights just fine with his 25yr old eyes and shoot excellent groups.
White paint on the front sights might work on the Vaqueros and my blued and case hardened colored Cimarron but one of my Cimarrons is nickel plated and I doubt white paint would contrast against the nickel plated rear sight groove.
Not sure what to do about that.

Anyway, had an excellent day shooting with my son.
Now I definitely need to start running some cases through the tumblers and get ready to load a few hundred rounds of big bore revolver cartridges. My son will load the .357Mag cartridges on one of the LnLs while I load the big bores on my RockChucker.

Had a relaxing afternoon shot my Ar, m11 and Smith 5904. There were a few other shooters at the range one of which offered to let me shoot his 3 Ar's and 3 pistols. I used a red dot for the first time on 1 of his builds. His pistols were a Beretta px9 storm a sig in 40 s+w, another first and a flock in 357 sig.

I also had him shoot my Ar and 5904 it was a great afternoon.

Ruger Mark IV Standard, Sig P6 (9mm), MAK 90 "AK-47".

The best part? All targets were two metal plates (handguns), or smallish chunks of concrete blocks with orange paint.

Browning Buckmark, Star BM (x2), Rossi Plinker .22, VZ 70, H&R 622 and SCCY CPX2. Some of them mine, a couple of them belong to the youngest daughter.

Oh, and a Walther P22. Test fired it with a couple of different brands of ammo for my nephew. Said he is having feed issues, worked perfectly for me. Must be the ammo he was using.

Yesterday....

a couple of .22rf rifles:

'70 Ruger 10/22 sporter
CZ455 standard

and my Super 14 .35 rem TC Contender.

This weekend it will be the 10/22 again (relieving some wood, pushing hard on bbl)
the Contender.......and hopefully my Steyr Pro Hunter in .30-06 (new scope should be here tomorrow).

Rifles first, that TC last. Am getting wimpy in my old age.
