What did you shoot today?

I shot my Hellcat again at 15yds off my bench. I'm trying to resolve my tendency to shoot left. (It is not a tendency...more like a reality.)
I hate to drift the sights because they're dead-center of the slide.
I gave a half-hearted effort with a mallot and brass punch. The rear sight didn't budge. I think I'll see if my LGS has some sort of threaded sight pushing tool that would be less caveman-ish.
The pistol shoots great groups....just left of center by two inches.

I can't recall if you mentioned being right handed but left eye dominant. I am and have been trying to correct left and a little hits.
A range officer suggested rotating pistol with the sights at 10 o'clock. Brought point of impact right up.

Well I got no advice but I feel the pain lol. I'm usually about 6 in low left at 25 yd. I'm 90% sure it's because I squeeze my whole hand instead of just the trigger..... I Don't seem to be able to not squeeze my hand when moving one finger though so I think I'll just live with it.

As for what I shot today.......

Qb78 repeater, and my recurve. Haven't had one of the powder burners out since last weekend.

Decided to check the zero on the Marlin 22 Mag yesterday. It was pretty way off at 100 yards I found out but after corrections had some fun shooting hedge balls on the berm and the 4" dingers. I did have a couple of the Winchester cases split though so that had me concerned. Upon looking it up I found a variety of threads going back talking about it. Seems to be a Winchester ammo "thing"..?

Nothing since 2/3. Swamped at work. Last Saturday was windy and rainy, so I did my taxes. This coming Saturday they're predicting 20 mph winds with gusts to 30. Not the most conducive conditions for testing. Sigh.

My S.A. M1A Standard is identical. Hit some clay pigeons at 50 and 100 yards today.
Acquired nib last March, finally ordered a first GI sling for it.

The Google image was liberated.:scrutiny:

Despite it being right at freezing I decided to take my 54 caliber Lyman Plains pistol out today. Tomorrow is our muzzle loader club's monthly shoot so I thought a little practice was in order. After shooting I decided that a LOT more practice is in order.
But, on the upside, there will be hot soup for lunch there so I got that going for me. Which is nice...

Waiting to sell to a friend of mine when he gets his tax refund. Fired 60 rounds LAX 62 gr with my PSA AR-15 purchased the upper and lower on sale several months ago . It is more accurate than the M&P I owned for half the cost, I just may keep it :p

Took the Browning 1911-22 Compact .22 LR, the Colt new Cobra and 8 3/8” S&W Model 14-3 to play with today.

.38 loads were 2.8 gr Bullseye under a plated 148 gr DEWC and 4.5 gr Unique under a coated 158 gr SWC.

For a 2” fixed sight revolver, this Colt shoots very well at 10 yds. :D

Stay safe.

Today it was time for both of the single shot, break open rifles in thumbhole stocks to go to the range. T/C Encore in 7mm-08 and the CVA Scout V2 in 444 Marlin. Put the thumbhole stock on the Marlin last month and had to go from medium to high rings, as the comb on that stock is higher and I couldn't get a decent cheek weld without getting the scope a little higher. With the higher rings and no scope adjustments made I started with a big target at 50 yards, and discovered it was shooting about 6 inches low. Got it all zeroed in at 100 yards now. Tried a few different handloads in the Encore and stopped at the pistol range on my way out to zero the Henry H-001 .22 lever gun at 30 yards. It's now got a Leupold 1-4x centerfire rifle scope on it that was formerly on my 30-30 for almost 20 years until the 30-30 got a scope with an illuminated reticle. Planning on using the Henry for squirrel with 22 Shorts. Been warm & sunny last few days and today it got up to a balmy 45 degrees or so but no sun all day. At least the snow's almost all melted and having the range a little muddy almost made it feel like spring. The Encore: IMG_9743.JPG ..The CVA: IMG_9745.JPG ,. Forgot to get a shot of the Henry today but this shot is from last weekend when it received that scope in an old set of rings that I had here. IMG_9748.JPG . Good Times.

VZ-58, manufactured in the Czech Republic in 2018/2019. It was bought nib. "The rifles Lock (in battery) like a giant P-38, have a piston like an FN-49....misunderstood by a lot of folks".
