What did you shoot today?

Today was bullpup and pistol day.
The weather was rainy so I wasn't shooting that much.
I shot both my Tavor X-95 and FN PS90.
I then switched to my Ruger GP100 Match Champion and Dan Wesson 6" 44 Magnum.
I finally switched to an HK SFP9-L OR.
By this time the rain was coming down so the Les Baer Premier II didn't come out.

A few range buddies never tried an FN PS90 so I let them try shooting it

Yesterday it was STI Spartan in 9mm, Glock 23 converted to 357Sig and SR1911 in 10mm, fresh back from Ruger.
Being right handed but left eye dominate has started causing issues. Tried shooting left hand, left eye. It worked but at 60, my brain balks at shooting left handed.
Previously I rolled the pistol with the sights at 10 o'clock which helped but again, unnatural.
The Ruger shot great right hand, left eye. Love a full size 1911 in 10mm. Could easily be my woods gun when out and about where a human in not the apex predator.
Think it is time to force myself to shot right eye and hand.

I converted my plate racks over to M12 tool batteries, picked up a new AA kit and finished a P80 kit thats been collecting dust for a couple years. Last few evenings, I've been sharping the old skills with the plate rack at 60 yards.

Red dot mount on the way but it runs (need to do my trigger mods now), not sure if its as accurate as my old version and they are different designs but need to shoot it some more, before I draw any conclusions. Like the feel of the frame but it doesn't fit my favorite holsters (too wide).

Been shooting the older version as well. Its the CA version, had to get a long barrel, thread it myself and machine an adapter to mount a can on it. They moved to a more firearm friendly (and other stuff) State and they now come with a heavier, threaded barrel.

Cz 452 with Microfit 2.jpg
I get to shoot this one tomorrow. CZ 452 American in a Richard's Microfit Stock. Trigger pull is 8 ounces. Cheap BSA 6 X 24 power scope. I built it 20 years ago. Had to sell it to a friend because I was going into assisted living and they didn't allow any guns. Didn't end up going but let my friend shoot it all this time.

When I mentioned I was going to buy a new CZ he insisted on giving this one to me.

SAR-4800 imported many years ago as a complete rifle from Brazil. Mine was bought in Jan. 2023, Don't waste money on DSA's mags unless the company decided to finally produce correct mags.

The expert FAL gun smith specialist Mark Graham of ARS (who recently repaired my Century L1A1) did a video years ago where he tries to insert about 8 DSA mags into a single rifle, and maybe one of them locked into position. But even if correctly locked in they often misfeed.

These along with the M1A and PTR-91 would likely be more expensive if basic .308 ammo prices were much lower.
For various reasons there now is a huge Oversupply of rifles.

CZ with Microfit Stock.JPG
Threats of rain at the range so I called to see if they would be open. NO problem says the girl so I packed up my CZ 452 and all my goodies and off to the range I went. Got there, paid my fee and made it to the shooting area. What a beautiful morning to test my old rifle.

Range Master was nice enough to post my targets and bring the frame out to 50 yards for me. Cease fire ends and we are allowed to go to the tables so I unpack my stand, bag, ammo scope... well you get the picture,,,

Call comes in right before I get ready to shoot my first shot and Lightning is within 5 miles of the range so they have to close it down. All targets are brought back and all equipment must be taken back off the range and into our cars.

RM says to wait in the office and we should be allowed to shoot in 30 minutes so I pack up and wheel my way up to the store to wait out the lightning... After an hour they announce that it's supposed to rain now for the next 4 hours.

No shooting today but the car is full and I'm ready to head out in the morning.

First outing with my CZ 452 that my friend gave me a few days ago. All shots fired at 50 yards, 5 - 10 MPH winds steady which ruined a few very nice groups.

CCI Standard Velocity did very well, so did Wolf ME but SK Long Range was the true winner. I've got to order more of that when I have the funds.

CCI Clean HV didn't do too well but I expected that compared to the others.

I was a little disappointed in Norma TAC 22. but the wind really got to me during that string. I need to work on my wind shooting or just wait until it calms down. CZ 452 at Ben Avery 030824.jpg
