What did you shoot today?

I have a major trial starting tomorrow, so a range trip was what I needed to get my head straight. I started with the Hatsan 87 QE at 25 yards off a (homemade) rest with iron sights.

It’s not spectacular by any means, but I only have about 30 rounds through it and this was with iron sights and 50+ y.o. eyes.

Next up, The Rat.

I shot one target not worth showing, then switched to some hand-me-down ammo. Winchester Super Speed, probably 1980s or so.

This was at 50 yards off the bipod.

Finally, one of my all-time favorites, my 10/22. I need a few more of these. I shot up a bunch of old stuff, old enough that the lead nose was all kinds of rough. Some Winchester, some I can’t recall the name.

She’s MOSC accurate, but she eats anything I can get in the mag. And she makes me smile every time! This was at 50.

Warm and hazy today, I think Manitoba is on fire again.
Drove over to my favorite range in Wisconsin because they have shade.
Found a cool spot under some pine trees to do some prone practice with my Ruger PCC.
Shot handloads, 124 grain Berry's plated RN bullets over Bullseye. Ran smooth, shot well.
Pardon the pic, my phone is stuck in selfie mode, makes it tough to take a pic.

Not today but Saturday, I had mounted my nikon monarch 3 4-16x42 mil dot scope on my grandsons m 60 marlin and sighted I t in at 35 yds, the gun is now in his father's safe. There were 4 other rifles along on that trip and a 5th that belongs to my friend.

I started off the day with my m98 280 ai. With loads reduced to 7mm08 levels for fire forming the cases, moved on to my friends ar 15a1 clone to zero his Romeo 5 dot, then my m98 6.5x55 swede, next up was my mid length ar 15 5.56mm and finally mu m11 savage in 223 rem. Fdidnt do any long range shooting as there was still wheat on the field but a very fun and relaxing day.

Went out before work and shot the 300wm at a grand a bit playing with some 240gr smk I had sitting.
Also shot the 300blk out with some 125smk and Speer tnt doing load work

Nothing. For weeks. Extensive travel this past month and 100+ degree temperatures when I've been home, which don't lend themselves to lengthy load development sessions. Now work is getting busy again. Sigh. 😓

I am vacationing in the Nashville area and brought my 6.5 Creedmoor and some ammo with me.
This is because I was at a competition last weekend and didn’t want to drive 8 hours to leave my rifle at home.

This past Friday I visited Dead Zero Shooting Park in Spencer Tennessee. This is the nicest range I have ever shot at. I highly recommend this place for anyone who is in the area.
The staff is friendly and knowledgeable.

They have 7 pistol ranges, shotgun ranges, and a 100-1,000y rifle range with steel and electronic targets.

We shot the 100-1,000y range.
You are provided a tablet which is linked to your targets.
Before shooting at the electronic target you must shoot 1 shot on the steel target at the equivalent range. This is to prevent you shooting the sensors on the electronic target.

I was shooting my Ultimatum Deadline in 6.5 Creedmoor in an MDT ACC chassis topped with a Tangent Theta TT525P.

I was shooting hand loaded ammo out to 600Y.
I was at 0.2MOA after 4 shots at 600y but of course I screwed it up on the 5th shot.

At 800Y I kept everything in the 10 or X-ring for a .74MOA

At 1,000y I had 3 groups in the 0.6MOA range with this one all being in the 10 or X-ring.

I was shooting Hornady Match 147 ELD-M, FGMM with Sierra 140gr SMK’s, and Sierra branded ammo loaded with 140gr SMK’s.

Sweet looking range, and great shooting!

How do ya like the 223 Wylde? I went out with my friend a couple weeks ago and his was a shooter, but really picky with ammo.
I've got three of them chambered in 223 wylde. A 16 inch and an 18 inch like everything I feed them. Another 18 inch (different manufacturer) can be quite picky at times. They all get the same handloaded ammo; 55, 62, and 69 grain bullets.
Haven't tried 75 grain yet. That may be next on my list. All are 1:8 twist barrels.

Tried out my recently acquired Ruger P90DC today. Ran 7+1 four times plus an additional 4 rounds I had with me, so total 36 rounds. Zero jams, no misfires. My first 7+1 I just pointed and shot. I don't recall trying hard to aim, but this was reasonably good for 7 yards IMO, as I am no sharpshooter. Ammo was 230 grain S&B.

Headline; Local hack shoots sub 2moa with a 9mm.

I’m sure it’s been done many times, but its a first for me.

100 yards, bench rested, Ruger PCC w/Romeo5 dot, Blazer brass, Fed GM, 4.0 Bullseye, 125 HAP, for a 1-7/8” group.

That’s as good as my 357 Handi rifle does with premium ammunition, very pleased with the Ruger.

What surprised me was how they only dropped 5” at 100 with a 50 yard zero. My ballistic program predicted about 8” drop. Must be getting better velocity than predicted.
