Now you old timers think about this carefully before you reply:what:

You live in a gun friendly state and you just came into some money. Enough money that you could buy the best rifle, pistol and shotgun that you want. What would you buy as it may be the last time you buy this kind of quality? What have you allways wanted?

Price be damned? How about public availability? :p

Remington M24A3 SWS .338 Lapua rifle; if not available from Remington directly, then a hopped-up Remington 700 long-action rechambered for .338 Lapua by a qualified gunsmith.

Shotgun, well I've never really had much use for an expensive shotgun; I'd suppose a high quality side-by-side for aesthetics' sake.

Pistol: Oh boy. Full-blown custom 1911, double stack mag, chambered for 10mm auto.

For a rifle it would be vintage Mannlicher in 6.5X55. I'm all set on handguns and shotguns. Essex

M25 whitefeather
STI trubor grandmaster 38super
Holland&Holland royal deluxe side by side, possibly to make a lamp out of

all this assuming the big bag-o-loot doesn't stick around to help pay for guns chambered in some "interesting" caliber

I'm set on rifles... but I would pick up a SIG 556 just cause I could.

Shotguns, no need really.

Handguns: Ed Brown Stainless Cobra Bobtail, ambi-safety and night sights. Don't even have to think twice about that one.

m 25 whitefeather

or an fancy engraved custom rifle....you know...the kind with gold inlays that you would never take into the field. I already have enough hunting rifles and shotguns that i'm not afraid to scratch.

PSG1 of course

original russian TT-33 would be nice

P08 Luger, matching #s

C-96 in 7.63

For me it would be a full custom 1911 10mm bobtail, a high end but not gaudy Beretta over/under, and a Colt RO634 SMG just like the one I used to carry every day on duty. Believe it or not, it's more fun than the MP5. I've shot both.

Instead of just a laundry list of guns, I'll make another comment.

I'm not rich, so buying an $800 gun or rifle is a big deal. Maybe something I only do every 1-2 years. I research everything I can about the gun, shop around for the best price, carefully research accessories, and of course slowly save up for it.

Honestly, this process is half the fun and makes me appreciate each firearm so much more. I think if I won the lottery and could buy any gun I wanted, it might cheapen it somewhat. JMO

Handgun : Singer produced Gov't Model of 1911.

Shotgun : Webley & Scott 28 gauge
Model 12 in 28 gauge.
Nice 32 and 24 gauge shotguns, and...
[OK I admit I have a long list of wants in the shotgun category]

Rifle: Double Rifle, this is where pick H&HHunter's brain.

hmmm,

American 180, or a full auto AR-15 with a belt fed .22 upper.
colt python,
not in to shotguns, some nice side by side I guess.
maybe I would get a nice AR-10 instead of the shotgun.

A 1905 Colt .45 with original blue in 90+ % condition and an early Springfield
.45-70 trapdoor in similar condition. I'm not really very picky am I?

Pistol: the Colt Woodsman which belonged to my granddad, and my aunt had destroyed when he died
Rifle: one of my grandfather's star barrel M1s he used in competition in the Army
Shotgun: Serbu Super Shorty

Basically, things which have emotional significance and are otherwise unacquirable. Alternatively, I'd take a nice M1 Carbine or a 1911 which has been used to kill Nazis, Soviets, or Japs. Or maybe an M14, M16 (or similar), or what have you which has sent a couple Muslims who couldn't jihad straight on to their 40 shriveled grapes.

Though, to answer the question more fully: if I had the money to burn, I'd spend it on land, not unacquireable guns.

Handgun: Kimber Ultra Carry II. I like 1911s but I have small hands. I'd like one but compact.

Rifle: Sharps. Nothing says dead deer like a .50-70.

Shotgun: Just a nice Remington 1100 in 20 ga. for me. I had a good one a while back but I sold it. I've got a nice engraved one coming to me as an inheritance but I'm in no hurry for my dad to die.
