What have you done in the reloading room today

Day two on my first annealer adventure. Adjusting heat dwell time and torch settings. Turning the lights off in my reloading room to adjust. Getting the hang of it and it's working out nicely. Only a couple of burnt fingers so far.

Loaded 50 test rounds of 45 auto with a new to me powder Ram Shot Competition and a MBC 185 grain SWC with Unis Ginex SP primer . I got this as my LGS did not have Bullseye or WST so I thought I’d try it looks very much like WST though if any of you have used it please give me some feedback.
Thanks Fred

Competition is a good powder for what you are doing. I would say in some ways I’ve come to like it over WST. Stick to moderate velocities and it should work well.

Thank you,,, the powder has always interested me but I have always used WST , 700X or Bullseye not being able to get any of those 3 is getting me to try it. I have recently started using 2 of there other powders because of not being able to find what I normally use, I am using Silhouette and Enforcer and I really like both of them I will probably just stay with them as I find them always available.

I use competition in plinking 38s, and will be running it in 45 as well after my other supplies run out. It's very fast, but turns out decent accuracy. I much prefer Silhouette for most of the same applications, but it's good at slow and reduced.

I loaded 50 rounds of 45-70. I used a Lee Crimp die on my MEC to close up the flaring on the cases. I really didn't need a crimp because these will be fired in my 1886 Springfield Trapdoor Cadet Rifle. I used 33 grs of 4198 under a 405 grain cast bullet.

I have 100 45 LC that need to be loaded. That will be my next project on my presses.

I think I loaded 50 RP that are ready to shoot and have another 100 that need to be loaded. So far the RP cases have been a pleasure to work with. I believe my man Charlie98 is fond of RP as well. I’ve segregated every case by head stamp. So all lots will be same brass
Agree with the R-P brass; no issues. The split ones I mentioned earlier have been loaded numerous times and are nickle plated, so, I understand that they are prone to getting brittle and splitting. I have a lot of .38 spl cases, so, a few throw aways are no problem.

The first pic above is optional step 1.1. I don't always do it, depends on if I'm in a rush. It really doesn't seem to matter
if I anneal with or without primers, and the AZTEC number assigned by the AMP is only one digit off with/without.

Today I have a lot of free time...........I annealed the 135 cases after step 1.1 in the post above. Time to size them, then tumble again.

Wellll, finally got around to finishing 100, actually 96 .38 spl, as 4 of 'em had small splits starting. 4.4g4 Unique/158gr coated rnfp for desert plinking is a good load my wife likes to shoot. Might load up some 30-30 later today, we shall see.View attachment 1204848

It looks like you are old school on your reloading, and that's me my friend. Single Stage all the way. Do you scale every powder charge and funnel it in? I do use an RCBS Uniflow with Micrometer for my powder charges, then visually inspect them in the reloading block and then weigh a few to confirm the micrometer has done its job.

I am going to put my RCBS Piggyback progressive into production again just for 9mm when I get back into that caliber for plinking in a 9mm semi auto rifle.

50 rounds of 45 LC / 200 gr RNFP Hi-Tek coated (Missouri Bullet) / Starline Brass / 6.8 grs Titegroup this morning, gents.

I did get a new bench gun/workstation mat. It is perfect for my needs and sized perfectly for my bench. But the thing was shipped tightly rolled up opposite of how it should have been, and I can NOT stop the edges from curling. I even tight curled it the opposite way and secured it with rubber bands overnight. Next morning, it was flat on the bench after unrolling it and it looked good so I thought I had cured the curl. 10 minutes later, it started to curl on the edges again. Feedback says you may have to wait up to a week for it to lay flat on your bench. Sheesh.
