What have you done in the reloading room today

Ran a load of brass through the wet tumbler, it's drying now. Also made a couple sets of plastic soft jaws for the new reloadiing bench vise, and a set from a small strip of plywood I had. Plastic ones turned out great! Wood ones are pretty "meh", but that's what I get for using plywood.

Yow. Those Garmins are pricey. Nice, but oh, the price. I am also looking at the new Caldwell Chronograph Kit with Bluetooth at Midway. 1/5th the price Garmin with good reviews.
I was happy with my Caldwell until it wouldn’t connect/register with the phone app anymore….
It did serve it’s purpose well tho…
I chose to go with the Garmin for ease of set-up at the range….
The price was a bit hard to swallow at first, but I caught it on a special member day @ BassPro and was also able to use some points…
The Caldwell will serve you well…

Decided to organize my 7-08 pile from long past silhouette matches. Kept finding range boxes of fired brass (thankfully marked for rifle and # of times fired). Can't remember how many cases I'd originally bought, but since I have 250 loaded rounds (Win 760, Win primed, R-P brass, and SMK 100, 130 & 150 bullets over various charges) it appears I was really lazy when brass was cheap. Decapped 800+ rounds of empties and have been running the tumbler day & night cleaning things up.

Since I'm a paper in notebooks person (with targets and chrono tapes on them), records - including scope settings for the targets - are all in hand.

Off to Bass Pro for some supplies, and down to AR Gun Traders to pick up the 220 Swift. Had Bill look at it, he pointed out sloppy machining marks on the last 1" at the muzzle - might explain why very few rounds appear to have gone through this gun. Bill cut the barrel by 1-1/4" (now a 24-3/4") and put an 11 degree match crown on the end.

Took a couple hours and started clearing my bench and removing all my 223 gear, parts and pieces. Many trays of brass in varying stages. All to make room and make way for a new 6mm ARC chambering I am now undertaking. This is all designed to be used in a Bolt rifle for short range (100-300yds) target shooting. So now that I have some room and the confusion removed I ready to get serious. Found I really need more Shelves and boxes for long term storage.

While waiting for dinner last night I set up the 750 for 38 specials and deprimed about 600 dirty cases of 38 spls and 357s. This morning, I put them in my two dry tumblers. I may only clean my rifle cases in my wet tumbler since they need to be lubed for resizing. I think I will continue to clean my pistol brass corn and or walnut.

I plan to reload some 38s and then set the press up for 357s. I have never loaded 357s on my 750 yet. I did plenty on my 550 and 650s.

Bill threaded and chambered 2 barrels for me last year. He's a great guy!

As I posted earlier, I moved my reloading bench from the basement to the garage. One of the obvious things I was missing in the move was empty ammo boxes for my reloads. I found ONE box, and I knew I had three dozen or more. Gone, so I thought.

Well, I went out in the garage this morning and poked around. Under some Christmas decoration boxes, was a large unmarked box. It was light, so I had hope. I opened it, and Voila! Ammo Boxes Galore;

I almost orderd some from Midway yesterday to replace these that I had thought were tossed out by accident, or at best hopelessly misplaced. That order would have been a waste. I have plenty, as you can see. Luckily, I have five 44 Magnum boxes, so I have storage for my (new to me) 45 Long Colt reloads.

As a bonus, in the box was my grandfather's 12 ga reloading kit and Tomlinson Gun Cleaning Kit with the old large wooden cleaning rods. I think my late father told me these were from the late 1920s. The reloading press is a now antiquated Sears and Roebuck. I had forgotten about these. A nice surprise, and another "Sporting" connection to my grandfather. I have his bamboo fly fishing rod and reel hanging in my cabin. I was planning on putting these items out near my reloading bench as decorative memorabilia;

Gonna need apic of that fly fishing rod/reel. My grandpa used to make those also back in the 30's[?]. Those were all gone before I even heard about 'em.

Up late last night after wife went to bed.

Started with a verification of max length for a Hornady 105gr 6mm bullet in my ARC bolt rifle. Then loaded up a three shot ladder in .3gr increments with AA2460 powder using Berger load data.. 23.9 to 26.3 though I actually stopped at 26.0.
