What is the best new 9mm pistol for under $600.00?

Really depends what you want it for but a CZ (insert model here) is always a good choice for just about any situation. I own the CZ P07 and P09. Both are, in a word, fantastic. Also well under $600. In fact most of the time they're well under $500.

There are a lot of quality fire arms for under $600 these days. We're pretty spoiled with options. Glocks, Walther PPQ, M&P series, CZ, some Sigs, the list goes on. I always find myself being counter culture and right now, M&Ps, Glocks and springfields are the "it" guns (in the polymer world anyways) so me, being who I am, gravitated to the CZs and the Walther PPQ and I haven't been disappointed.

Realistically I think just about everything in the $450-$600 range made today by a common name is a decent pistol. Some fit given uses better than others but none seem to be a consistently bad buy. Its a good time to buy firearms.

Best for what?

The most accurate for example would be an Witness Elite Match, but you wouldn't want to carry one every day.

Thats a pretty broad question

Sort of like asking, what's the best mid-size car under 30k

There are many fine 9mm's but the VERY BEST ONE OF ALL ? Is the one you try and shoot the best with. everything else tends to be irrelevant

some great examples

CZ P01
S&W MP9mm
Berretta PX 4 Storm
Glock 19 Gen 4
Walther PPQ
Siq Sauer
Springfield XDS

the list goes on...I chose the Glock ONLY because I tried several and it shot the best FOR ME

I know it's a little more money but I saw that PSA has the Sig P229 in 9mm on sale for $699 right now. I have the similar M11-A1 and it's far and away my favorite 9mm pistol.

I went with the CZ75b and it is excellent. I am looking forward to also trying a PPQm2. I checked out the PX4 and did not like the feel but really did not like the fact that the feed ramp is plastic. I haven't found a plastic gun yet that I like though so whether I like the feel is irrelevant to some.
9 fingers

Remington R! in commander or Ruger Commander. Both around 6 hundred, less if you get the Rem now with the 100 dollar rebate, CZ "if you can find a compact or P01", I haven't, and of course the PPQ.

didn't realize either was made in 9mm

Best at what is the question of course. For CCW I'd go with a Glock most likely. I went looking for one to carry and ended up with a Taurus PT-145 Millennium Pro though. I haven't regretted it for one second but that's a .45 and not everyone is as lucky as I was with Taurus. I got a 30 day no questions asked warranty though.

If you can find one that works for you get a Glock. I couldn't find one that fit my hand but most people can. I have pretty big hands. Second choice would be a CZ or maybe a Springfield. Both can be excellent. The CZ is a heavy, metal design that's stood the test of time for the most part. Of course there are a few different choices of CZ's. SA's are generally striker fired, plastic frame weapons. They may not work as well in 100 years. By then I won't mind though

There are actually lots of good choices and few bad ones. Look for the features you like at the right price. Decide what you want your gun to do. Target pistols don't make great carry pistols usually but you can find some guns that are good at both. But they generally cost more than $600. A Sig P226 would be a great choice but it's outside of your price range. They're accurate and they are reliable. I love my P220. It just doesn't hold enough rounds. That's more of a sign of the times in which it was made than anything else. But dang that thing will shoot and keep on shooting till the cows come home.

In that price range i would say theGlock 19. It won't cost you 600$. Its; accurate, reliable, and is not picky about ammo.
Its: fun at the range, can be carried comfortably, and can pull night stand duty.

The Forgotten Sig

That would be the SP2022. With night sights, $499.95 at Top Gun Supply. Comes with only 1 magazine, but 2 will run you $80 at TGS. So 3 mags total and you are still under the $600 of the OP.

To this question, HK P30 V1. No further discussion is necessary.

Uh, I don't think so. Try a Sig P210 Legend Super Target. 2" groups at 50 yards right out of the box.

The best 9mm in the whole world? Easy.

The one in your hand when you really need it most. :)
I prefer CZ from personal experience.

I think that the guns mentioned are all great for carry. It depends on which one you shoot best, and like. Sig, Glock, H&K, Walther, M&P, it's just a matter of taste and trial and error, Some people shoot one better and others shoot another better.

I saw a brand new Walther P99AS in a local gun store last week for $529.

Pretty damn difficult to beat that.
