What is the best new 9mm pistol for under $600.00?

Best is subjective but my choice is the CZ p 09. 19 + 1 capacity, nice quality firearm and the price is very good for what you get.

When I was on the hunt for a 9mm, here are a few that made my short list:
  • Glock 19
  • S&W M&P 9c
  • SA XDsomethingorother
  • CZ P-07 Duty

I wound up with the G19, but I'm sure that others on my list would have suited my needs. Bear in mind, though, that I was specifically looking for something that I could CC.

I just bought a Canik 55 C- (CZ 75B clone).... Made in Turkey... Shot it today and it freakin' rocks. Worth a look and some research. I love it!

This is a good gun. I own one myself, from when the hard chromed version was $299.99.

However, be prepared to hunt as not all parts are CZ compatible. But, for the price, buy two!

I like my Glock 9mms. Those are under 600. Not my favorite, but definitely my favorites under 600.

Realistically, you need to at least say if you plan on carrying it in your pocket , "all the time". or keep it in the bedroom, or the safe. You can get a small Kahr, or a large 20 round CZ. Both are good, but one is 3 times the size of the other.

Lots of good options. PPQ has best striker fired trigger but i find recoil a bit snappy when firing at a fast rate. CZ p07 has nice trigger for DA/SA and very low recoil and superb ergos. FN FNS9 is very nice too. Low recoil, nice trigger and good 191ish ergos.

Glock 9mm in your choice of frame size. Personally I don't let an arbitrary dollar amount set my limit for any quality tool, gun or other. I'd spend the couple extra bucks and take home the G34 Gen 4 that I think is the best all around 9mm available period.

I saw a brand new Walther P99AS in a local gun store last week for $529.

Pretty damn difficult to beat that.

I've always liked the P99. I don't know why, but it took me like 15 years to actually pick one up (which happened a few weeks ago). I think the gun is very well thought out, and its build quality is on-par with any of the HKs I've ever owned. Feels great in the hand, and the AS trigger is absolutely sweet! Mine is a new manufacture 9mm AS version and it is currently pulling nighstand duty in AS mode with a TLR-1 attached. I paid $660 OTD for mine, but that's my fault for not researching current pricing. I remember them being $600 give or take, so the price didn't seem out of line to me at the time. I'm very happy with the gun, and that's what counts!

As much as I like Glock 9mms (I own 3 and carried the G26 for 10 years), the Walther P99 is just a "nicer" pistol with more creature comforts. Long-term logistics and simplicity make the Glock a winner, but to me the P99 is just a nicer handgun.

Holy COW! Really? The one I had a few years ago was so poor, after lighter springs and polishing, that a pal of mine who shoots DA/SA guns almost exclusively in competition, stopped halfway through the trigger pull and said, "naaah," set it down and passed on shooting it.

I know the Omega is a simplified version of the 75B. I guess it's easier to detail strip.

I've got to shot one someday, because I can't imagine a Nine that shoots better than my Current Glock 19. In fact it is as good a shooter a I've ever owned including some Custom Shop Kimbers. Maybe my next Glock will be a 34. I've got a 21G4 on order now which I selected over the 41, and I carry a 30SF. Me likes em Glocks.

For me, the tupperware man it's a Glock 19. The CZ75 is a great gun, but I can't get with the narrow slide. To me the biggest advantage with Glock is aftermarket support. You can get parts (including step up parts), holsters, accessories, everywhere and because of this aftermarket pricing is much more competitive.

Canik 55 S-120 works great for less than $350....the S-120 is all steel...nice fit and feel....I love my CZ 75 but the Canik is getting a lot more range time.....

Why does it have to be new? You are limiting yourself from some really excellent handguns by this self-imposed limit.

I just purchased a used SIG P239 police trade-in. This gun is 10 years old, been shoot on a average less than 200 rounds a year and only used on the range. Heck 2,000 rounds is not even breaking in a handgun designed to last over 50,000 rounds. New with three magazines is $900.00 plus tax in my area. Used with three magazines for only $595.00.

Pick a Glock. 26,19, 17, 34...there's a size for pretty much every need other pocket carry.

The Gen4 is pretty 'new'

I was super impressed by the grandpower k100 when it was the sti gp6. If you want plastic that gets my vote. http://www.jgsales.com/grand-power-...stol,-9mm,-full-size-frame,-new.-p-58147.html

other than that, I really like the eaa witness elite match or a cz75sa

mostly I just can't stand the triggers on striker fired guns, and lest I sound blasphemous, the 1911 just doesn't do it for me. I've tried. Maybe it's because I didn't grow up with one.
