What is the best Taurus out there?

No, not so. In my case I WAS a long time Taurus owner. Owner of scopes and three other excellent Taurus handguns. But this current experiance with a NEW 941 has now made me a "Taurus Distruster".

No more from me.

Even thier repairmen appear to be "lacking".
And I forgot to add; Taurus did fix the "key holeing" problem, but they NEVER did anything about the screwed up chambers that cause big time ejection problems. The chambers are still full of tool marks!

Damn them!

Back from the range today after shooting 100 or so rounds of .44 special and magnum from my 2005 M44 4 inch (3 inch and compensator)

The double action is something to behold how smooth it pulls and clean it breaks.

Single action is like cheating.

PT-92

PT-92 because Beretta designed it.

The Beretta 92 series is one of the best pistol designs, ever. If I remember correctly, Taurus licensed the Beretta 92 from Beretta and changed the location of the safety to the frame.

You don't. Taurus bought the Beretta factory from Beretta at the conclusion of the Brazilian military contract. The Beretta had the safety mounted on the frame. It was changed by the US contract trials to the slide. Taurus decided to keep the frame mounted safety, later adding the decocking function to it, as well.

There is nothing wrong with the Beretta. Both guns are way overbuilt for the 9mm cartridge.

PT709 Slim

I just recently bought the Taurus PT709 Slim and really like it. The slim design together with the size makes it a perfect pistol for concealed carry. I am still searching for the best holster for concealed carry so if anyone has any opinions on that I would be open to suggestions too.

I've looked at the 709 a few times. I don't remember if I ever tried to put it in pocket. Would it work for a pocket gun or is it too big?

A CZ Rami will probably be my next gun. After that it will be a pocketable 9mm. I would really like a 709 or LC9 to work in that role. I just think the Kimber Solo and the various micro 9mms are too much caliber for too little gun.

Pocket Gun

I think the PT709 would be a just a little to big for a pocket gun but I guess it would also depend on the size of pocket you have. I am looking for either a IWB, OWB, or shoulder holster for mine.

I really like this gun and have no regrets having picket this up. The 709 and the LC9 are similar in size but better choice of the two would be the 709 after talking with the gunshop rep and giving them what I was looking for.

I was looking at both actually and when I held the 709, looked at the features and with their recommendation (price was very comparable) I went with the 709.
