What is the last gun that you bought?

hey jmace57:
i have an old model 10 s&w 38 special. the barrel has "38 s&w special"and below that
is "u.s. service ctg"8". it has a 6.5 inch barrel. i am looking for the date of manufacture.

It would likely be a Military & Police Model of 1902. I presume it has a round butt, rather than square? If you can tell me a serial number (you can obscure the digits like 352XX if you like) I can probably narrow it down to a year or two.

Magnum Research 1722 I bought from a member here. KIDD barrel. Volquartsen trigger.

I put a Vortex Diamondback HP 4-16x42 Scope on it. It now sits in a Magpul stock with Harris Bipod.

Photos are of 10 shot groups at 50 yards. The small group is off a lead sled and the other photo is off the bipod. Hot and humid and wind from 0-15mph.

I apparently got the barrel tuner just right the second try - on accident because I have no idea how to really use it other than go one way until it stops getting better.

I won’t show my offhand groups because it’s embarassing.

I’ve taken it out to 100 yards and the groups are an inch or less with no wind.

Best part - runs like this on CCI standards which is my go to round.

Only complaint is that the rail is 1/4” too high and I can’t get the scope more forward...

Can't you move the rear scope mount one slot forward and then move the scope forward?

No - scope sits too low on the backend. I could use higher rings to go more forward, but the scope is already too high as is.

Uberti m66 carbine 44-40 for $200 had rust cleaned up good. trade it for to bp guns and a new uberti 1858 new army. The last trade was a savge 111 in 300rum i traded for a browning abolt in 7mmwsm.

My Bullpup stock for the Hi-Point arrived. This stock is the only reason that I purchased the Hi-Point carbine. I have waited quite a while for it to arrive.

Here it is with some others, for a comparison in size. As you can see, it is only a tiny bit longer than the braced pistol.
