SIG P220. When looking for my 1st handgun/carry gun (1995) I decided on a .45 ACP and rented a G21, P220, Ruger P90 and Colt Commander. The Sig shot the best for me, but I decided in my head I didn't like DA/SA. The Colt shot OK, so I ended up buying a Para P13 that was never reliable, finally got rid of it.

If I would have just got the P220, I'd still have it. Now I have a Kahr K-9 and P226...my next gun purchase will be a P220 (...or an AK;) ) and it will fit my P226 holsters.

About a month ago in Anchorage, I hesitated on a S&W 625 Mountain Gun in .45 Colt:cool: at a shop that was going out of business. My Scottishness got the best of me:D and I figured the price would drop a bit as they got nearer to their closing date and I would snatch it up then.:p Besides, it's not like .45 Colt is real popular anyway. Right?

Well, I got back to the shop a day late and found out it had been sold the day before.:banghead::cuss: :fire:

Mossberg Bullpup Shotgun--

Always thought they were neat, inthat "weird" sort of way.

Didn't buy one when they were in production. Saw a really nice one at gunshow last year for $499 (which was about $498 more than I could afford). Came home, checked the auction sites, and the few I saw were going for $6-800.

Honorable mention: Spanish FR-8, quite good condition, $100, Weatherby Model ??? .300 WinMag, great shape except stock need refinishing (that "plastic" finish was all cracked and crackling), $250.

about 13 years ago I passed-up a deal on a clean M1carbine for $100:eek:
I agreed to get the money and a friend talked me into my first mini-14 instead. I'm not sorry for buying the mini, just I should have bought both. thats why when people ask which gun should I buy, as long as both are quality weapons and not some cheap chinese cra* I say: buy both:D

Gewehr G-3 :banghead:

When I was about 14 I went to an estate sale up the line and saw it for $120. I unfortunately, wasn't THAT into firearms so I didn't know what I was looking at yet :banghead:

an HK91 for $500 from a buddy that needed the cash. I didn't have it at the time :banghead:
I think it was the Garand that Woolworth's had back in mid 80's for $100 or so I think.
AKs when they were cheap at gun shows.

That pre WWII Springfield 1903 I saw a few weeks back at a Montgomery AL gun show. Nice condition, stock cartouches visible. Alas - not enough money in the Gunvelope. I later settled on a nice "US Property Savage Enfield" as a consolation prize.

Guns I wish I would have bought?

I really can't think of many firearms that I truly got to the point of almost buying that I regret NOT BUYING. One sticks out in my mind. It was a lettered nickel plated Colt 22 Bankers Special revolver with the original box in mint condition...... I just could not bring myself to lay that money down for a gun at that time that I would never shoot. Heck now, I bet the thing is worth more than $10,000 and would have doubled in value several times since that turned down opportunity. Pretty gun too. That is the best part.

Second one was a coltguard finished 22 Diamondback that was in about 98% condition. They wanted $450-500 for that one and I backed off as at the time I did not know Colt ever made those with the E-nickel finish. The dealer was saying it was stainless. Oh well....

Don't laugh...

A local guy was headed to Iraq when the deal started, he was selling a .223 Saiga rifle for ~$125... should, coulda, woulda on that one...

College student was selling a Hi point for $75... Would have been okay for zombie milk jugs...

Another college student had a Sigma in 40 S&W for $200...

Instead I bought computer parts...

c'est la vie I guess...

Swedish mauser, mid 90's, under $100 for a nice one. One of these days I will buy one, but the price has gone up some.

Hmm...

Browning Model 92, 357 Lever

Colt, Bushmaster, or any other comparable pre-ban AR-15

Two tone Desert eagle in 41 magnum

Coonan arms 357 magnum semi-auto with lots of magazines

More S&W 610 revolvers.. (I have 1, I want more).

S&W Model 52

That about does it for now..

Vince

Only 2 come to mind for me.

I wish I would have bought another Browning Hi Power when they were in the $3500-$400 range NIB.

Also, an HK PSG1 when they were $2500 NIB and able to be sold to civilians.

COLT Dimondback

The one I realy kick myself over is the blued COLT Dimondback .38 SPL. with a 2 in. bbl. this gun was almost perfict, the price was $325.00. this was about 4 yrs. ago. At the time I was looking for a Python and did'ent have the money for both. I eventualy found Myself a real nice blued Python V series with a 4 in. bbl. but I realy should have bought that Dimondback and waited on the Python.:cuss: :banghead:

Countless amounts of guns I could have purchased before the original AWB and I was making too much money for a single guy with no attachments. Just using the AWB as a time frame. Course back then I was more worried about cars, clubs, and alcohol...man was I dumb.

Now that I am married and have a child on the way I have to save my money, $20 here, $10 there for my discresionary purchases that come after everything else.

Colt Diamondback .22 in 1973 brand new for $145. I bought the S&W Model 17 for the same price. I'm glad I have the 17 but wish I had bought both.

HK trigger packs and M16's in 1991. I could have had a bunch of them for less than 10% of what they're worth today.
