What is the last gun that you bought?

First gun I bought myself was a Beretta 92FS, at the first local gun show after I turned 21. A few years later, had to sell it to pay closing costs on my first house. Been kicking myself ever since. Yesterday, I picked up a new M9 (wanted the straight dust cover). Brings back memories, but my memory didn't include that trigger pull. M*CARBO kit on the way, hoping to try it out soon.

I replied to this long ago and have read it right along. But I would not reply these days with the exstream anti gun culture. Maybe this thread should be closed. jmho

You've got 2600+ posts on this site...why would replying to this thread be any more "perilous" than to any other gun-related thread here (#hint...most of them are).

Because if someone replies every time they get a new firearm your giving a up to date list of what you have in one thread. Maybe I'm being too cautious but I never would have thought how negative things are now and gun owners seem to be the blame for a lot of society's ills. Like I said it's jmo so post away.

I hear ya, but I pay with a card, so, anyone I might not want to know, knows.

I would say 99% of my firearms I paid cash or money order. In the beginning it had nothing to do with concerns of who knew what I bought. Paying cash made me stop and think that I wanted it. Now I'm glad I did. Especially in the state I live in.

20230429_164806.jpg Well I went and did it again. I just bought a new S&W M&P M2.0 compact in 9mm with a Holosun SCS green dot sight and Dawson night sights.

Ordinarily I would have passed on it but it had a great price and will go very nicely with my new S&W FPC because all of the magazines will interchange and I have a new Holosun SCRS red dot sight for it as well as folding iron sights.

I've been looking for a PPQ in .45 ACP for a little while...passed up several on GB that went for more than I wanted to spend. Decided to stop by a small gun show in the area yesterday that, frankly, I wasn't expecting much from other than overpriced new guns (saw plenty of those) and cheap nylon gear (yep...lots of that too). Was pleasantly surprised to find a lot of used guns with decent prices...and found a PPQ for @ $125 less than I figured I'd eventually have to pay for one. ppqa.jpg

To kick off the month I was lucky enough to purchase an Egyptian Rasheed in 7.63x39. Beautiful rifle. Only 8000 were imported into the US so they are rare to find on the market. They are the next rifle after the Egyptian Hakim. Can't wait to get this one to the range!!

Nice! Just be careful with the extractor. They are known to get pulled out on ejection with the case.

Let us know how that little beast shoots.
Already tried it out as they will give me free range time when I buy a gun. I ran 15 rounds of Cavalry 200 grain lead flat point, 5 rounds Grizzly 200 grain lead flat point, and 5 rounds Hornady XTP JHP 180 grain. First the Cavalry rounds, and they shot low at 3 yards, about 8 inches low. I had to put the blade above the notch about half way to get it to shoot on point. Same with the other rounds. I did more single action as I wanted to check accuracy without interference of pulling DA. All the lead rounds looked like they were keyholing but the guy who sold me the gun said that often the lead will stick to the paper enough to cause it to tear out, as these were longer slots than keyholing. Also the JHP made nice round holes. The JHP was last and grouped nicely--something like 2-3 inch which is not bad for me and first time with the gun.

Seems like more recoil than I recall having last week from my Charter Arms Bulldog snubby .45 Colt 180 grain. May be because the Taurus is lighter with its aluminum frame. Otherwised .44 Special and .45 Colt are about the same pressure so I would expect similar recoil.
