What is your favorite .22 revolver?

I don't have one *yet* (money sufficient is now in the kitty, though, and I'm looking for an acceptable bargain), but the 617 has my eye. I wonder if by the time I find the perfect 617 (new? low miles?), Ruger will shock me by bringing out a comparable DA .22 ...

And hmm ... 617 in 4"? 6"? Wish I could get a discount for getting both!

I too wish Ruger would bring out a DA .22. Last week I got an e-mail alerting me to their new Single 10, though holding 10 rounds instead of just 6 still fails to make me crave a SA .22.

I gather there is very little demand for a DA .22, since the only current makers I can think of are S&W, Charter, and Taurus.

I want adjustable sights and actually like weight, so the fixed sight aluminum framed Charter is out of the running. I hold a pretty low view of Taurus quality, or lack thereof. Which only leaves the pricey S&W 617 that costs a small fortune.

I was also wondering about 4" vs 6", though my main concern was the balance and how it felt in hand.

Gee guys........... has anyone mentioned the K-frame Smith and Wesson yet? ;-)

Well, then, just to be different.

Dan Wesson 22. Big, heavy. Shoots like a laser.

Harrington & Richardson 999 Sportsman. I don't think I've ever shot it D/A though.

But I do like my Model 17. :D

McGunner, I'd like to see a picture of it.

617-4, 4", 10 shot

BTW, been wondering, but didn't want to start a thread on it: How do you attach the full photo rather than the thumbnail?

That lil Rossi is pretty cool. I went by it twice thinking it was a Smith 63.
I like those grips too, I have em on a couple of guns.

My favorite is my Dan Wesson. It's super accurate and built on the .357 frame so will last forever. I had a Smith 617 which is a close second. I'm not a big fan of Smith's due to their prices but was very impressed with the 617 I had.

I bought a revolver in May from the Gun Show here in town. I love it! It's a Taurus 941 ultra-lite, 8 shot. I got tired of hand feeding the bullets into the cylinder so found a speedloader online and ordered it, and it works great! Thought I'd let you know about it.

However, go to his website and check it out! http://ds10speed.wordpress.com/
I got the 8 shot ds-classic and the loading box that hold four rounds of bullets and extra bin of bullets.

My favorite is a 4" Blue Colt Diamondback. I have pretty much stopped shooting my Colt and have migrated to S&W M17's and M18's in the last 5-years. However I really like my new S&W M63.
