Winchester 1897 factory riot gun from 1937.
Just because:

It's a Winchester
This one was made before WWII
The Model has that great history from WWI
Still practical for social work
This one is in exceptional condition
Very handsome, even when compared to the Model 12
I've wanted one ever since I first saw one.

1972 Ruger BH 3 screw .357. Not good for concealment, I don't hunt anymore, to heavy to OC even if I were so inclined, (not to mention I don't have a holster that would do it justice or even function properly) I don't enjoy shooting the big revolvers as much or for as many rounds as I once did and I couldn't afford to anyway so.......I guess it could be called a "just because" gun. Call me crazy but I even enjoy just looking at it. lol The old Model 11 Remington semi auto 12 ga. isn't good for much either but I'll most likely have it until I'm gone.

1977 Marlin 1894c in .357.... and "just because" of that one I bought a 4 5/8 Ruger Blackhawk, same caliber.

FEG/Mauser P90DA. I bought it mostly for the looks, and I had recently bought the wife a SIG 2022 in 9mm. I wanted a nine so I could shoot up some of the ammo I loaded. Couldn't let her have it all! :D

The trigger is awful, gun is out of production & FEG is gone. Only mags I could find were ProMag.

It's in the shop again...:banghead:

The one that fits "just because" the most would be my 1919. Why? Well, why not?

Beretta 84FS. It's just a .380, and it's ridiculously oversized for a .380, but I think it's about the prettiest handgun I know.

similar to this (hijacked Google pic) except an older version (vertical slide serrations, not slanted) why? because it's so absurd but at least it's cheap to shoot (22lr) and actually shoots pretty well

makes me want to go to a costume party as a pimp, but I wouldn't carry a real gun as part of a costume, that just doesn't seem right

Bushmaster;

I've enjoyed your posts on several different forums. Love seeing your old-school shotguns. Could you post pics of your collection at one time?

I very nearly bought that pimped out Taurus PT92 for the same reason. Not as unique as yours but definitely not something you see at the range every day!

Just because

Star Model BM. 9mm single stack SA. It has stamps and numbers in LOTS of places. Some kind of trade in, maybe lots of times.

SW M19. 357 and it has lots of stamps and numbers also. Holster and strap wear on the side plate and barrel.

Both could have been around the world twice and up and down Magazine Street once.

RG .22 Short. Pot metal revolver. Its been kinda fun camping and tackle box. Haven't used anything other than .22 CB Caps. Wouldn't want to either. I've had it since I was a younger kid.

Wow! Love the 1919!!

My just because piece is this Automag V in .50AE. It was unfired until September when my son was home from the service for a few days and we put some rounds through it. It is absolutely brutal and I have no real use for it but, IMO, it's pretty damn cool.

.50AE on the left, .45ACP on the right.

HK P7 - just because ... it looked weird. And has turned out to be one of my favorite semiautos. I love my tactical stapler!

Glock 27, traded for a glock 22 mostly because the 27 is a Detroit police Gun

Mine is a Rossi external hammered 12 guage coach gun. Always wanted one with those hammers. My favorite shop had one in near new condition and it was still there the next time I went back. Mark

All 3 of my Colt Snake Guns~ 1 Python, and 2 Diamondbacks. I could have bought cheaper guns....nah, just because ya can't beat hand fitted craftsmanship. Actions are sooooo smooth.

I am awaiting delivery on a commemorative Para-Ordnance SF-45, with markings for my unit's recent deployment. I will probably open-carry it anywhere I would open carry, instead of my regular 1911, but I wanted it because I have a friend who also has one he bought after HIS deployment (which I am currently holding for him because he is in California on orders,) and because this year Utah made the 1911 the official state gun. Why not?

S&W 5906 in 9mm. Why? Because I thought it looked cool and for $400 +/- it was a good deal. It came with 2 extra 15 round mags, box and paperwork. When I bought it, the SS finish was kinda dull, but after about 3 months of applying SS polish and elbow grease, it finally has a shine to it. I want to replace the plastic grips with wood and maybe get some night sights.

I picked up a Colt Government this year just because I wanted a M1911 which had the "100 Years of Service" engraving on the slide.
