What pistols do you collect?

I REALLY like older smiths- for example pinned and recessed N-frames.

It is also hard to pass up old model Ruger's and anything in 41 mag.

I wish I could afford to 'collect' colt saa's-- but I am currently trying to decide which one/caliber I want, for 1 saa is all I will probably every buy.

I have more military than anything else. Last time I went shooting I brought a 1945 Rem 1911A1, a 1944 AC P38, a 1944 Browning HP, a WA'd FN 1922, a 1917 MKVI in .45 acp, a MKIV in 38 S&W, a 1943 Radom, a 1918 Erfurt Luger, a 1937 Mauser Luger,a 1964 Chinese Tokarev,a 1951 Russian Tokarev, then a .357 Colt Trooper and a Walther PP that are not military. I rarely shoot my Nambu. Surprisingly the Tokarevs are as accurate or more so than the others and the Browning HP is pitiful.

I tell people I don't collect guns, I accumulate them.

"Yes, I've got an arsenal and I could arm everyone in this room, with stuff left over."

Nothing in particular, whatever I feel like. I tend to go for high value/FRN guns, in standard calibers (which I then get reloading bits for).

Second and third generation Colt blackpowder revolvers. I have 10 or 11 now, including the giant hand cannon Colt Walker. No safe queens though, I shoot them all.

I collect S&W's. Colts,Rugers, SIG's,CZ's, Kimbers, and anything else that I like. All of them are shooters. Having a gun you are afraid to shoot is like being married to Miss America and having seperate bed rooms. What's the point?

:D :D Ha ha. Good one.

Unless of course you want to keep her a "virgin" so that her resale value is higher later on.

Colts

Colts. Gotta love them Colts. I have too many.(can that be Right?) I really like the Colt .380's.

Gun Collector??

Cannot really say I am an avid gun collector. Cannot even say I know much about them other than their use safely. I personally have no need to memorize every detail about every firearm. I just buy the ones i like and shoot them because I really enjoy doing it..
To me they are a personal choice of the buyer. Who cares what the other guy thinks.

I told Mrs. Foggy that anytime she sees a special model/Commemorative Ruger, I want it.

Have the Sheriff's Model Vaquero in .357, the 50th Year Single Six, and the William B. Ruger/NRA Commemorative Mk2, all courtesy of Mrs. Foggy watching out for me.

:D :D :D :D :D

I got an email from a gentleman today...

Asking about my old M1912 Steyr-Hahn in 9mm Steyr. Turns out he has at least 30 of them in his collection! :what:

(He sent me some pictures of them all lined up together, wow!)

I used to collect "Modern Combat Autos" (meaning "Whatever is flat black, expensive, and on the cover of a gun mag this week, but not icky old-fashioned revolvers or 1911's.")

Then I sold most of those and started focussing on collecting Glocks.

Then I sold all of those and started collecting guns worth collecting: customized 1911's and S&W revolvers.

Sorry, can't help you out on this one. :uhoh:

(A friend just called me from the shop he works at:

Him: "We just got some cool used guns: A Dick Special real cheap, an S&W 469 for $269, and some USP .40's in the $460 range..."
Me: "Any real guns?"
Him: "Huh?"
Me: "You know, guns I'd be interested in; Smiths and 1911's."
Him: "You've turned into such a gun snob!" :D )

Hmm. I just started buying guns and went right to the end point where Tamara is.

I like my Smiths!
