Have been carrying ccw scene 1968. Have ccw everything from 1911's up to 454Casull.
60 years old and now i carry either my 1911 or XD40 when in town. Out in the bush i carry an Alaskan 2.5" Ruger 454 In town revolver carry would be 45colt.
When i make monthly bank deposits. Rent from 75 apartment units i also carry a pocket 357 Revolver with laser sight for back-up ccw.

I added a .40 Walther PPS into the mix last month and it's ended up taking over for the Bodyguard .380, I may actually trade the S&W off now.

29, first started with a Glock 23, now it's a 1911 officer/compact 3" barrel. They're slim, it's a .45 ACP cartridge, and I shoot more accurately with her.

Wow I cannot believe the 50+ carrying modern polymer frame guns I thoguht us youngns would carry those kinda guns. I'm 22 and I carry a glock model 32 in the winter and a bersa limited edt. 380 in the summer.

23, carry an XDM 3.8". Going to get the compact soon (they came out with the compact like a month or two after I bought my 3.8").

I just put the numbers into excel, and here's what I see:

For all age groups, polymer pistols are significantly higher than the other two. For 21-49 age groups, steel pistols outnumber revolvers. Old folks prefer revolvers to steel pistols, but polymer is still higher.

So maybe it isn't just my generation that's gotten on the plastic bandwagon.

At 67 by the end of the month I only carry polymer pistols (mostly glock 19) and also sleep with my AK near at hand. I can still do jump kicks, I am fast, and my punch is not bad. One should never let the thinking get stale. I have used large and medium frame revolvers, and the 1911, but glock 19 for selfdefense beats all of the hands down. As a concession to aging eyes I am trying out a RMR optical sight on a G19. The polymer is lighter and absorbs recoil then steel guns.

I'm 26, my primary carry gun is a sig 229 in 40 cal. when its hotter than hell in houston (110 this summer) i grab my walther pps in 40 or my s&w 642 .38 snubby

I'm 54 and I may carry either steel or poly depending upon the make/model.

BHP with Commander length upper, Satin Nickel Colt Commander, Para P12 SA OR P3AT

well us 50 year old guys were 30 or younger when the Glock hit the scene big so its really not surprising that we would use polymer pistols or revolvers as well as steel and aluminum.

70+ years and a CCW for over 50 years. 1911 when in town and a 44 the rest of time except when on rabbit patrol.

53, I carry a Para P14 .45 and a S&W Chief's Special in .38spl for back-up.

(So I can get to my Benelli M1 super 90 or my Ruger Gunsite Scout)
