SO half of those responding are over 50.
And to think I complained that we needed younger folks getting involved 30 years ago........

Don't forget sample bias when it comes to these polls. I'm 20 (don't technically qualify for the age groups listed in the poll) and I'm the only person I know who owns guns in my age group that regularly visits THR.
Post the same poll on another forum (arfcom comes into mind) and I would be willing to bet on a significant demographic shift. Even more so, post the same question to gun groups on places like Instagram and Tumblr, and you'll get a complete reversal of the apparent demographics. You'll see trends that suggest that the only age group that owns guns are under 30.
The High Road as it is isn't a very appealing place for many, especially those in younger age groups, given its generally no-frills and heavily moderated nature.
It seems like, at least in the groups that I'm a part of on other sites, that guns aren't seen as a standalone aspect of life as much as they used to be. People own guns, and they make them a part of their lives. And given that a thread regarding hat wearing at the range recently got closed down for the reason of THR "not being a fashion forum", and in the meantime on other sites people my age like to show off their fashionable clothing and firearms at the same time, it's not too much of a stretch to see why it's tough to get younger people on here.
Mind you, none of this is to say I don't enjoy the forum for what it is, and there are many reasons why this is the only gun forum I regularly visit, but it's important to remember what this place is in regards to the larger spectrum.
