Whats your favorite 22 pistol and why?

Roger that: I said it had a hard time functioning with the standard velocity ammo. Note that the tags on my little photo show 100% functioning with mini-mags. Crappy groups but it worked...
The most accurate ammo was the ELYs target ammo, but it barely managed two shots in a row before failing to feed.
His pistol was a bit dirty and even though it was 18 degrees at the range there was a lot of moisture in the air...
Buckmark off my list.

I think you handled a bad example. The Buckmark is a good gun and should function reliably. I have shot a fair number of Buckmarks as well as Ruger MK-series. Both are good, accurate, reliable pistols.

Well I borrowed a buddy's Browning Buckmark today. A 4 inch slab side barrel with a red-dot type sight.
The temp was 18F with a gray hazy sky. It had a hard time functioning with standard velocity ammo. The groups at 20 yards were not super impressive. You can see the one group I shot at 50 yards using a cheap ( $60 ) yard sale Chinese J21 22 bolt action rifle as a comparison.

Looks like a loose top rail screw. Groups open up, reliability goes to pot. Buckmarks need some TLC to run reliably, in my experience. I do really like them however...easier for me to shoot accurately than, say, the Ruger Mark series. I do have a new 22/45 that is looking good so far though.

I will chime in with the Neos crowd. The thing looks like a fashion model's laser tag gun created by a French clothing designer but it is 100% reliable and accurate. For the price point (I think I paid about $200 for mine), you will be hard pressed to beat it.

Like some of the other posters here, love my Beretta 87 Cheetah. Expensive but well worth it. It looks good, feels good and it is so nicely made and operates so smoothly. Nicest pistol I have. Here is mine. I also have a Belgian Browning Challenger and it too is beautifully made and it is also super accurate. But the Beretta takes the award overall.

A "just because" photo of the Daewoo I mentioned on page one of the thread, but this time with a .22lr Walther PP to show the similarities, (and differences).

Beretta makes some great guns. Here's one of my favorites.

Tough choice, as I have quite a few nice ones... but the one everyone always asks to try is the Whitney Wolverine.

Ruger MkII. Never liked the original (MkI even though that wasn't it's name) and I think the MkIII was a step backwards. The most accurate .22 pistol I've shot was a MkII. Of course it had a 12" bull barrel and a target trigger but that thing can shoot. I've been trying to buy it from my buddy for years. I guess I'm going to have to steal it. :D ;) Not really. He loaned me his Buckmark to teach my wife to shoot a handgun. I can't steal his prize toy now. Although it was stolen a while back. He actually got it back about 6 months later. What a break he got on that! That Buckmark is a nice pistol but not as good as the Ruger or several S&W .22's I've seen.
