What's Your Favorite 9mm Pistol to Shoot?

CZ75B, hands down. I've shot a lot of handguns and, while I'm not expert in any sense of the word, I keep ending up at the trusty CZ75B in 9mm. There's a lot to like about it. It's a heavy all-steel, full sized wonder nine with decades of service around the world. I carried mine in the Jeep during my solo off-roading days and was always comfortable with it. And most importantly, I can hit what I'm aiming at with it! I don't know what it is, but the CZ just seems to fit me very well. The ergonomics of the CZ 75 seem to be widely recognized as "pretty darn good" based I've what I've read and heard. They certainly are for me!

My only failure with the CZ75, and I've tried to induce them, was with a steel case round I found in a river wash while out shooting. I wiped it off and slid it into the mag. It fired and cycled but didn't quite clear and stove-piped on me.

I have been looking for a lighter 9mm and think the CZ P10C will do the trick. I finally put hands on one today and think I'm sold.

Hard to beat my previous CZ-82. Superb ergos with those original thickish grips.!

Among my present four 9mms- Sig P225 (single-stack), S&W 908 (single-), Walther P99 AS, and PCR......probably the CZ PCR (75 D).

I only have one 9mm pistol. I have it because it was my favorite 9mm I've either shot or owned. The CZ P-09. My is set up as SAO.....don't ask me how.

It's amazing how many CZ owners are out there and how often people say they shoot and love them.
I found out about them a while back and every time I let someone shoot the thing. Its just lights out and they are banging on steel like there's nothing to it. Its a fav in my book for sure.

Hard choice. The 9mm pistols are favorites of mine, so I may have a few. But I hope to go boating soon;)
Until then, one of my favorites to shoot is the SIG 210, especially the German version with adjustable sights. Accurate of course, but also 100% reliable with any ammo I've used in it. And if I shoot a bad group, or miss whatever I'm shooting at, it's me...

Mine has changed over time...

I must have been about 23 years old, and it was probably 1988. I'd heard that the Hungarian FEG Browning High Power "clones" were pretty good (probably read it in a gun magazine). I got one at a gun show for $200 and was pleased with it. It was my first 9mm pistol. It was reliable and I could shoot it fairly well. The small sights didn't bother my young eyes much, and I was used to DA revolver triggers, so the somewhat gritty SA trigger didn't seem bad.

A couple of years later the Clinton magazine ban thingie was about to go into effect. I decided that I would get myself a high capacity DA/SA 9mm while I still could. I'd heard that the Taurus "clones" of the Beretta 92 were dependable pistols, so I bought one NiB at the LGS. It was the model with large adjustable sights, so it was easier to shoot. It became my new favorite 9mm pistol.

About 25 years after that, I decided I would get myself one of those CZ75 thingies that everyone liked so much. I got an Israeli surplus Tanfoglio "clone". It had a very nice trigger, decent sights, and fit my hand like a glove. So it, of course, became my favorite...

Until I heard how great the Walther PPQ was. I happened to run into a used one (not a clone, for a change) in nice condition for a very nice price. Its trigger was divine. I was able to put the larger grip panels onto it for my XL hands. The sights were excellent. I shot it well. I had a new favorite.

Then something weird happened. I'd owned a couple of 1911's. They were cool pistols... you know, big 45's. But a couple of years ago there was a nice-looking 1911 pistol in the used case at the LGS... and the crazy thing was that it was 9mm!! I liked the trigger and sights and I got it for not much, so you know... I had another range toy. I took it to the range with me sometimes. I always take at least one 9mm pistol with me.

So I had a great CZ75 clone, a great PPQ, some nice Glocks, Rugers, S&W, whatever, in the gun safe, but the 9mm pistol I kept taking to the range with me instead was the cheap used 1911. It definitely became my favorite 9mm pistol to shoot. I thought my taste in 9mm pistols would keep getting more and more modern, and I was completely incorrect.

My goal is to never sell a gun I like, so I still have all of my favorite 9mm pistols. :)

I got infected by the .40SW bug long time ago but I did buy a used FN manufactured Hi Power. A Hi Power was the first handgun I ever shot and I guess it set the direction for the future. I have never felt the need to try anything else. I also learned I prefer hammer fired handguns to striker fired. I will probably have my Hi Power when I move on to no threat range in the sky.

Browning HI Power (p35) gen 2 import with a lightened trigger and the magazine safety decommissioned. Trigger break reminds me of a factory S&W revolver in single action. It cannot be beat as far as trigger pull and excellent accuracy. Pachmayr grips and the all steel frame absorbs recoil and shock like butter.

Glock 17L- Favorite striker fired- tightest group semi
Kahr K9 - Favorite compact, period
Sig P228 - Honorable mention
