What's your favorite type of gun?

Just for fun I was wondering, what type of guns do you enjoy more than others?
Do you like Handguns? Carbines? Rifles?...or Shotguns best? and why?
I'm not necessarily asking which you use most or which ones you even own most. For instance a Law enforcement officer may carry a handgun daily but he has a cherished centerfire rifle at home that he does not get to shoot often but is his favorite firearm. Or maybe someone does a lot of duck and goose hunting with a 12 gauge but he has a special place in his heart for rimfire pistols. Etc.
So how about it, what warms the "cockles of your little hearts" most and what do you like most about those types of firearms?

Rifles first. I used to be more of a handgun guy. But all of the above.

In my 20s and early 30s, on a scale of 1 to 10, I liked handguns 8, rifles 5, shotguns 2, and airguns 4.

Now, it's more like handguns 6, rifles 9, shotguns 7, and airguns 3.

I like everything, but rifles are on top for me. I really enjoy mil-surps though. There is something cool about being able to shoot something that old.

As far as my favorite rifle, I'm gonna have to say the M1 Garand. Its just an awesome rifle in general, and IMHO, one of the most comfortable to shoot.

GAU-8 Avenger:

30 mm, hydraulically-driven seven-barrel Gatling-type rotary cannon (typically mounted in the A-10 Wartog).

But seriously...My semi-auto 22 Marlin rifle is really fun to plink with. It also has sentimental value because it was given to me at 13 after I showed the folks I could be responsible and trustworthy.

My favorite is the first gun that i bought on my own. It happens to be a 1977 ruger M77 vamint in .308.

Most recently, I have been shooting the AR-15 and enjoying the heck out of it.
Last month, I would have said our 1911 pistol as I was shooting that a lot...

The best wow gun I ever fired....120mm smooth-bore on an M1A2 Abrahms. Watching a turret pop off another tank (T-52 I believe) is the biggest "Oh YEAH" I have had to date. Anything else that is less than .308 or more than .375 H&H just doesnt interest me. I will take a crew served weapon any day.

Cartridge type, gotta have fixed ammunition! The semi-fixed that 6" and larger Naval rifles require is a logistical nightmare, also, never developed a taste for muzzle loaders, carriage mounted or hand carried.

I really do have a profound interest and love for almost all firearms. I think though shooting clays is what holds my interest best and is probably what I like best. So shotguns may be my favorite.

If forced to pick a favorite type of firearm,it without reservation,would be MAUSER 98. Specific Mausers would be the sporters that I built myself.
