Great thread!

I use my pistols almost dead equal, so that I am equally practiced with all, and so they all receive an equal amount a wear and tear. I actually shoot so often, and in such high quantities that I have considered hard-chroming all of my pistols. I haven't done so yet because I have been told that if not done properly it can make the steel brittle.

The two firearms I shoot very infrequently is actually due only to a medical fact. I have an electronic implant (computer/battery) in the right side (under the skin), with wires that run under the skin up to the neck, and the implant is inside of the spine (neck). So, to reduce the risk of breaking my implant, my SA M1A "Loaded", and my T/C .22 LR Classic get precious little practice. The doctor tells me it's completely safe, but I don't push it too hard. I fire enough to be practiced, but not to excess like with my pistols.

Per month, I fire total of around 2,000 rounds of 9MM, .45 ACP and .22LR (all in about equal quantities: 1,000; 1,000 and 1,000).

Ah--NOW one sees why the hard chroming...that's A LOT of rounds! And the .22LR upper rotates onto my 1911s, further increasing rounds.

Guns presently owned:

Glock 17
Colt repro Series 70
Colt repro. WWI
Kimber Warrior
SA M1A "Loaded"
T/C .22LR Classic

That's more than enough firearms for me, and I know all of the intimately! I used to own dozens, and dozens of firearms. I couldn't even list all of them, nor fit them in my vault. I have a much better appreciation of these few works of art.

Just my humble thoughts. Thanks for starting this thread. It was a great read!

Most used - My S&W 13 and 35
Least used - a Rem mod 10 I got that was a great friend of my father-in-law

I normally take my S&W 13 and 35 and my 2 Marlins 1894C and 39A.

Depends on what "used" means. My M37 is always with me if that counts but my most often shot is my 3" M65 or my SA Loaded. My least used is my former carry gun; a Kahr K40 that I just don't carry because I carry something else when I belt-carry and just don't bother to shoot it at the range anymore.

Most used: Kimber Ultra Carry II is my main carry gun, but the Springfield Mil-spec sees the mose range time.

Least used: Yugo 24/47 Mauser. Love the gun jujst don't like to clean up after corrosive ammo.

Most used depends upon in what way you mean "most used".

Most often set up for defense- Taurus 85CH, Taurus PT140 Milennium Pro, Benelli Nova 12ga, and Winchester 94 in .45LC. These are the guns I most often have set up for home defense. Add that the two Taurus guns are going to be with me for CCW when out of state in a state that allows CCW.

Most rounds per range visit- CZ 75B. 9mm is just so inexpensive, yet it gives me enough recoil I know I'm firing something.

Most rounds through it- Charles Daly 1911 and S&W 65LS (in handguns) and Marlin 60 (for rifles). The Marlin 60 was my first gun, and only gun for a few months. The Daly and S&W were my only handguns for over a year at a time when I went to the range at least once, often 2-3 times, per week. The CZ is close because I got it early enough (I've had it a few years and I got it back when I visited the range at least once a week). Also, the Daly, 65 and CZ all get shot quite often still.

Brought with me on the most range visits- currently that would be the Taurus PT 140 M. Pro, CZ 75 and possibly the S&W 65LS (though it is spitting lead so it doesn't go quite as often).

Most used rifle is my Winchester 94 in .45LC since I can use it at the indoor pistol ranges.

Least used:
-As a group, my rifles and shotgun. I just don't get to the rifle range much.

-As a specific gun it is between my Benelli Nova (I don't shoot the shotty much) or my 2 blackpowder revolvers (there aren't as many places I can shot them).

Least used: Mosing-Nagant M-38 it's loud, it kicks like hell, it's inaccurate and it's ugly . I only bring it out of the safe when I have a newby with me who isn't developing a bruise after 100 rounds of 12ga and needs initiation scars

You're not holding it right then, killermarmot. I fire my M38, M44 and Type 53 Carbines all the time, often over 100 rounds a day, (Hey, if I gotta clean 'em, I make it worth it...;) ) without bruises or soreness; my 12 year old son also fires them a lot, and has shot over 100 rounds of 7.62x54R in a day without bruises. It's just a matter of holding the rifle in 'the pocket' , the muscular area just in from the shoulder joint. If held firmly into that, and with a slight lean forward, you should be able to fire it all day long without bruising. If fired from a bench as such, it will decrease felt recoil and bruising also, although some may occur because of the upper body not being able to absorb the recoil as well as if standing.

I will agree the Mosin carbines are loud, and they make a heck of a fireball, too. But that's what's fun about them! As for the inaccuracy, well mine are decntly accurate for milsurps, but I can't say all of them are as accurate. I totally disagree about the ugly comment, but I might be a little biased; I collect them....:)

Most used, a toss up between my Smitty's, either ,y 637 revolver, or my 410 semi... and for rifles, my rugers a 96-22, a 10-22 and a 77-22... same magazine, 3 guns, all different types... too sweet!

least used? my contender in 7mmTCU - ammo hard to get, and my 8mm mauser, it's all customized, sweet stock, just haven't decided what to re-barrel it in yet (caliber wise), maybe a .35 Whelan...

Most Used: Ruger MkII

Least Used: Winchester 94 in 30-30. My dad bought this gun new in 55, gave it to me, and its in really good shape and all original. I actually was going to hunt with it this year, but failed to draw a deer tag.

Most used: My .22 pistols (Single Six, Mark II, Buckmark). Out of those, the Single Six gets the most use.

Least used: Swedish 1896 Mauser and Swiss K31. I like them but i've shot them each only once  (one range session each, not one round each)

Most used; Thompson Contender G2 rifle with various barrels.
Least used; .454 Casull SRH. Good hunting revolver, but not fun to shoot a lot.

Most carried - SIG 229, (I average about 200 rds a month through this gun.)

Most often shot - I really don't know for sure, but it is one of my .22RF's.

Possibly a Ruger MK II. But then again I've been shooting a Remington 510 and a Ruger 10/22 a lot
lately.

Least used - Its gotta be my hunting set up Remington 870. I just haven't hunted anything with it in years. And I've got other shotguns to "play around with".

Most used lately - CZ75B and Remington Nylon 66
(I can't seem to put the 66 away)
Least used - S&W 37 and Swiss K31

Most used pistol...XD-40 Tactical
Least used pistol..Ruger Vaquero in .45LC

Most used rifle.....AR-15
Least used rifle....Rem 742BDL

Most Used - Ruger 22/45

Least Used - Springfield 1911

Both get their spots because of the price of ammo for a non-reloader such as myself.

Most used: Beretta 92fs. Ammo's not terribly expensive, and I carry it a good portion of the time.

Least used: Colt 6920. Sad to say it, but I hate cleaning the sucker since every last strand of motivation to clean an AR-style platform is spent when I'm in uniform.

Most carried: Taurus 450.

Most used (as in shot): Glock 23.

Least used: 870 set up for slugs.
