Instead of doing the tired"whats your favorite gun?"or "If you could only have one?" subjects, I though it would be interesting to see what is everyone most and least used guns. I assume the most used guns will be mostly 22 rimfires. Or it might be CCW pieces.

Heck, your most used gun could possibly be your least favorite if in the case of a LE officer that is issued a duty piece he/she does not like!

I'll start it off with my most used, it does happen to be a favorite too! My S&W model 17-4 6" 22lr revolver gets range time quite a bit due to accuracy and economy of ammunition. My 1991A1 Colt 45acp gets used most every day as an HD piece too but is rarely fired. It is usually close at hand though.

My least used gun is a Greek Mannlicher Schoenauer 1903/14 rifle in 6.5x54MS. Have had the gun for years but due to scarcity and cost of ammo I've never used it and the bore on my example is poor anyways! Also have a French MAS36 in the wrap that has never been unwrapped or fired by me and a Italian Carcano M38 SR in 6.5 with only like 30 rounds thru it I'll probably never fire again for years.

Most used: Wilson Classic 1911 or S&W M629 .44 Mag.
Least used: two custom stocked Winchester rifles that I haven't shot in 12+ years since I started hunting with scoped S&W M629's. A retina tear in my right (shooting) eye which had to be laser repaired further dampened my interest in shooting the rifles.

Good shooting and be safe.

My most used; S&W Pre-18 Least used; 1962 Presuffix Python. Sad to say but I don't think it has ever been fired. I look at it all the time, should just sell it.

Least used: Glock 17 & 21 don't like the trigger pull.

Most used:
Armscor 1911-A2 9mm widebody with J-Point red dot (cheap ammo!).
RIA .45 1911 with J-Point
Rotate Taurus PT92, FM HiPower, and CZ 75 for iron sight practice (cheap ammo)
Ruger 22/45 with red dot
Beretta Neos with red dot
Ruger Mark I for iron sight practice.

Most used - Hammerli 162 Free Pistol.--I AM going to master it, I AM, I AM, I AM:banghead:

Least used - Sig 229 in .40 S&W

These are from the list of guns that I use, collector pieces are in a different category

You'll never master that pistol. You should give it away. To me.

:D

My most used is my Browning A-5 (See the sig?) for Trap & Skeet.
Least used is my Savage rifle in .222 Rem. As someone on this forum said to me, rifle ranges in MD are about as common as albino siberian tigers, and NOBODY sells .222 rem.

Sad topic, for me anyways. I collected firearms for years, and bought a lot of good stuff. I still have quite a few firearms, but some I haven't touched in years.

Most used
1. Witness .45/ Browning H.P.- Leo duty weapons
2. Rem. .243, fired twice a year- deer season

Least used
1.Savage 24 .22/.410 OU. My first firearm, and IMHO a better small game rifle for a boy, does not exist. Last used about 1983.
2.My collection of single action revolvers. I was real fired up, over S.A.S.S, but slowly lost interest.
3.Just about every other fire arm I have.

My semi-annual qualifiation, For P.D. is the most I shoot in a year. I need to get out more :( :(

Least used - CZ452 .22LR won in raffle. Put on scope and sighted in with 10 rounds. Haven't shot it since.

Most used. Browning BPS 12 ga. for skeet shooting every week.

Most used Kimber 1911 & AR15
Least used Marlin 3030 and Thompson Center Black Diamond

8mm Mauser. It kicks like a mule and I hate cleaning up after shooting corrosive ammo.

Personal defense weapons
Most used - Kimber compac CDP, My primary carry.
Least - Mossburg 590.

Hunting
Most used - Springfield M1A Yes w/ the battle sights. Love it inside 200 yds.;)
Least - Marlin 336 Dad's 30-30. Shoot it occasionally in memory.
There are several in between.

Most used: Walther P99 and AR-15 (been on a big rifle kick lately)
Least used: H&K P9S (only because I only have one mag and it's not the most reliable, great gun, though).

most used S&W MOD. 422
least used DPMS panther lite AR-15
or maybe
moisn nagnt 7.62X54

It varies on my whims and the seasons.

Most used lately are a Ruger #1S in .45-70. A Kahr K9 gets the blueing worn off as my constant carry companion.

Least used is a pre-'94 Colt Competition HBAR (Why do I even keep it?). Followed by a M1912 Steyr-Hahn.

Oldnamvet, perhaps you'd like to trade up or sell it then?

My most used with be either of my Bulgarian Makarov PM's. Least used, S&W M10-5; I shoot six rounds of it and they're all in the center ring, and I spend the next three months just staring at the gun in awe.

Most used rifle: CZ452 Lux in 22lr. It's very accurate and there is virtually no recoil. I bought a .22 spinner target for it last year and have hit it literally thousands of times :D .

Most used centerfire rifle: M39 Finnish Mosin Nagant. Besides the scoped rifles, this is the rifle I have the most confidence with. It's so much fun to shoot with a rifle that you feel connected to.

Least used rifle: Swiss K-31. I bought it as a promise to myself to learn to handload my own ammo, but I haven't gotten around to it, yet. I only shot two boxes of ammo (40 rounds) out of it as a function test and to sight it in. It's a fantastic rifle and I might even buy another. . . :uhoh:

Most used handgun: CZ75B compact. What came first, the chicken or the egg? Do I shoot it the best because I shoot it a lot or do I shoot it a lot because I shoot it the best?

Least used handgun: My beloved BHP. I changed the hammer and sear and afterwards the safety doesn't work anymore! I gotta take it to a gunsmith since this seemingly simple change is apparently too much for my ham-fisted gunsmithing skills. Haven't shoot it in months. . . :(

Most used: H&K USP .45. Now that the weather is cool enough, this pistol replaces my Sig 229 .40 as my preferred carry piece.

Least used: H&R single-shot 12 gauge with a 20" barrel I cut down from 30". The shotgun now weighs four pounds and must be used with low-recoil ammo. As I say in my book, the Marquis de Sade would have enjoyed this one.
