What's your "never buy" gun?

Taurus - after buying the "Gun of the Year", the Millennium 9mm and it sheared the pin that holds the slide to the frame and the metal in the receiver cracked I sent it to Taurus for warranty repair. Worst customer service I ever experienced. It was eventually replaced with a new gun that I traded in as a new non-fired gun. Got the Kahr PM9 and it is fantastic and dependable for C&C.

I am in the process of disposing of my 3rd and last Taurus. A .22 snubby blue.
Terrible trigger pull.
Springs were replaced and 7 out of 9 misfires resulted. Trigger improved but reliability went out the window.
Factory springs were put back in and it works now. I estimate the DA pull it is over 16 pounds though. SA has to be seven pounds.
I called Florida HQ Taurus about the Lifetime Guarantee. For $60 they would send me a shipping label. Not a deal in my opinion. From what I hear the triggers are about un fixable anyhow.
This was obtained on a trade and Maybe I can break even.

The wild flagelations from "Nothign Brand X!!!!" to "Now I only own Brand X" in the very next post is pretty funny. Lots of opinions and experiences out there.

870 Express...

...or any relatively recently made Remington 870 anything. What pieces of junk.

Remington has completely squandered the legacy its stupid President inherited:

"It's not the action, it's the pointability" he's been saying for a couple of years.

No, it's the action stupid!

I will buy anything I can afford.
I have 2 Hi-Points pistols and a carbine and I challenge ANY other manufacturer to beat their reliability. They quite simply go bang every single time. The pistols are ugly, heavy and don't hold enough rounds for their size but they shoot well.
I have 2 Kel-Tecs. Both are reliable though the 9mm, which I got used, had to go back to KT where they repaired it for free.
I have Diamondbacks. No problems.
I have Savage rifles. No problems.
I have a Phoenix HP22. No problems.
The fact is that I have quite a few "cheap" guns and I don't have any more problems out of them than I do out of the mid-range guns.
I have milsurps.

After buying and shooting a S&W Model 442, I have decided it, and revolvers like it, are on my "Never Buy" list.

I too have avoided buying anything in .40 caliber simply because I feel it is an "in between" caliber. I know there is nothing wrong with the round but I have had 9mm and .45 pistols for years and the .40 is in between the two so, rather than stock another caliber of ammo, I have just made it a point to NOT buy one.
The same is true of a .308 rifle. I know for a fact that the round is just as good for my purposes as are my other rifles but I don't see any reason why I should get one. I cut my teeth on a 30-30 and a 30-06 and see no advantage FOR ME to own a .308. Again it is another round of ammo I would need to stock.

I've been following this thread almost since the beginning... and it's been fun. I'm of the mind to say, "never say never." However... I feel I probably can accurately say the following:

As long as Kel Tec keeps making guns via the nut and bolt assembly methods, I will never buy. As a kid, I had cap guns & BB guns that were made like that and they ALWAYS required retightening or would fall apart. I will pass on that manufacturing method on a gun that will actually be used for something.

S&W Sigma. Or Glock copies. It fires by my gosh, does the trigger have to be that bad. Feels like your dragging sand paper when you squeeze the trigger. Sold it off and will never you that road again.

I would buy anything for the right price:

Even a Chauchat, or a Ross rifle. I would buy an RG and name it Reagansbane for $10 or less.

Even bad guns can be interesting. As long as they don't cost you anything - I've got 4 mint condition 32 rimfire revolvers ... and less than $200 wraped up in all 4 - since I will never be able to shoot them, I just didn't spend much. I actually got one of them for $29 shipped on Gun broker - 100% mint, functional, double action.

One thing about Taurus - they are not afraid to try and make quirky or inovative new products. Despite my poor experience with a few of their guns int he past I really do admire them for that.
