When you're just cruising Gunbroker and throw a lowball bid with 20 minutes on the clock...

Great find! As for your ‘splainin’ you really need to set her straight from the onset. Just tell her it’s your money and you will spend it however you please. Now this next part is very important. If she gives any back-talk just tell her she’s “cut off” for the next two weeks. I know that’s a drastic step but ya gotta lay the law down and let her know who’s boss. Take it from a guy that’s been married three times. That strategy works! :)

Wow, lovely price in this market.

Explain that you could turn around and flip it for an easy profit. You WONT, but you COULD ;)

I've had a couple of "well I didn't expect to win it!" moments on Gunbroker in the last month. Great deals to be had at times!

I've gotten a few crazy deals of late also. Maybe prices and availability are finally moving towards "normal" for a while.

I think the reality is with this current economy, money is just tight…and more deals will follow.
I'm inclined to think this as well. Deals are popping up. Also, it's the seasonal low season for ammo, and we're seeing prices we haven't seen in years. Guns haven't quite followed yet, but the deals on used guns are definitely out there. Market is soft for sellers right now, I think. A couple years ago when people were flush with government COVID money and before inflation really took off, it was easy to sell guns and knives. Now, you gotta slash prices to move things.

Eh, I like the autobid feature thing. That way I put in my max and just forget about it unless it wins
Yep, I don't have time to sit around and track auctions. Just put in your max bid and see what happens. Either your max bid is good enough or someone else wanted it more.

Great deal. I picked one up a few years ago. It was used but looked like it had never been shot. It's a great gun and picking one up at that price is a bonus.

Nice grab!

I did that on a dirt bike on ebay around 2002. It was almost new and bids were up to $2600, on a bike that retailed for $5800. I bid $2650 and an hour later, I won. Had to tell the wife what happened and she actually thought it was pretty cool.

Yep, agree here. Recently bid on three guns at a Kull auction and won all three for what I thought were good prices; A Ruger Standard in excellent condition for $325 and a 1919 Remington 12a for $510. Okay the 3rd was a BB gun that I overpaid for but had to replace a childhood memory.

I did the lowball bid deal on GB last week and won both of them. I thought the first one was "50/50", but the second one had almost no bids other than mine and the opening bid. I hope I didn't miss something. I guess I will find out Friday morning...

I just did something similar last week.
Only with 3 days left on the auction.
I bid a little higher than the last bid, didn't expect to win.
That bid rode 3 days till the end.
Even shipped free!
Well.....ok then, now I have a Tisas

My fiancee is much the same. I mainly need to explain to my own budget spreadsheet what I did.
