I love it when I have an interaction with a company that makes me want to give them all my business. I've recently had issues which have caused me to get in contact with three gun related companies and I'm happy to say that they all made me customers for life... or at least until their good customer service stops.
RCBS
I purchased a hand-priming tool brand new and when I got it I found out that neither my Lee or RCBS shellholders would fit on the plastic shaft that guided the piston. Confused, I called RCBS customer service and relayed the problem. They explained that their "young" engineers had forgotten to take into consideration the legacy bevel on the old RCBS shellholders when it came to the new hand priming setup. Yeah, what a pain in the backside. Well anyway, they offered to send me out a new shellholder at no charge. Bad move as a company to design something that wasn't backwards compatible, but at their genuine effort to fix the problem has made me believe in them.
MidwayUSA
I've purchased numerous items from Midway and usually they show up on time and in great shape. One order that contained 2k of bullets (projectiles) and a bunch of MTM storage cases came in a large box without any padding. Consequently two of the MTM cases were shattered. A rifle storage bag was also somewhat torn. I promptly called up Midway and explained the situation. The fellow on the phone was most courteous and sent me out a replacement bag and 2 MTM cases along with a third extra for my trouble. Bad packaging job, but in the end they did an excellent job of fixing the problem and I'll continue to give them my business.
Kimber
I love Kimber 1911s. Those pistols just feel right in my hands, but unfortunately I haven't always known exactly how to disassemble them. I'll omit the details on how, but I damaged a small part of the extractor. After calling Kimber customer service and leaving a message, I finally got a call back from a fellow there. He questioned me to get a sense of the issue and after telling him that I'm sure I am the cause of the extractor's failure to extract (after I did what I did), he told me to send that piece in and he'll confirm. So I did, and finally got a call from him and he reconfirmed the problem. I told him again that I'd be more than happy to pay for the replacement part considering I knew I was at fault, but in the end he insisted on sending me a replacement at no charge. What a company!
These are some companies that make me all warm and fuzzy inside. Which ones do you like?
