Wilson Combat is pleased to announce a full product line of our newly designed, enhanced replacement parts and a comprehensive suite of custom gunsmithing options for the Beretta 92/96 series handguns.
The Beretta 92/96 series is a classic combat handgun and the standard issue sidearm of the United States Armed Forces since 1985. The legendary reliability and user-friendly design of the 92/96 can now be enhanced with our quality parts and services geared towards the needs of defensive, tactical shooters.

I actually am a fan of the 92, and that is awesome.

Unfortunately I feel certain that it will be like most Wilson products and be out of my price range, but that doesn't make them less awesome.

I wonder if they will work on the Taurus model?

Wilson Combat has a thread they started over on www.berettaforum.net with a lot more details. The best part, in my eyes is this quote from them:

"we will be able to convert FS models to G models. We are still finishing these parts, and we are not ready to put out a price on the conversion until we have installed a few and tested them with FINISHED parts. This will be coming online soon...."

YAY!!! My holy grail gun is a Beretta 92G-SD, which was basically a Brigadier slide (thicker and heavier all around and beefier around the locking block area, with dovetailed front sight), on an early M9A1 frame (integrated picatinny rail, checkered front and back straps, beveled mag well). The best part of the 92G-SD was the "G" aspect. For those that don't know, a G model Beretta has a decocker only. The decocker lever automatically springs back up into the firing position after decocking. The gun cannot intentionally or accidentally be put on safe.

Unfortunately, Beretta does not currently make any 90-series pistols in the G configuration, and any used G models are hard to come by and they usually fetch a high price. So with Wilson now offering this conversion, you could essentially recreate a 92G-SD with a standard Brigadier FS slide and an M9A1 frame.

Or if you wanted an ideal carry Beretta 92, you could send them a 92 Compact, have them do the G conversion with left-side-only low profile decocker, and have them shorten and reverse crown the barrel.

I see they added the 92/96 FS to G conversion on their price list, which is $150 and includes the special decocker lever.

I just think it's great that someone out there is offering some new services on Beretta pistols. 1911s have had their turn! Now let us Beretta guys play! :)

Wow. Beretta fan here and past owner of a 92S from before it was adopted as the US military sidearm. This is some outstanding news....very cool.

VooDoo

Bill Wilson is apparently a pretty big Beretta fan, and has been for many years.

I believe I've seen comments on other forums from WilsonCombatRep saying they have no plans to work on Taurus models.

The other thing stressed is, they are not making Beretta 92/96's, just modifying them and offering parts for them.

The F to G mod would be a welcome option for many of the Beretta lovers.

With all my M9 experience, I could go for a gussied up "G" model. The only gripe I really had with it as a service pistol is the stupid slide-mounted safety/de-cocker that can be accidentally put on safe while aggressively working the slide.

I agree. I've done it with my 92FS during a 300-round defensive handgun course. It sucks doing a quick and sweaty tactical reload using the power stroke method, with an instructor barking over your shoulder, just to line up your sights and feel nothing but a long spongy trigger and no bang.

The G conversion would solve the only problem I see the Beretta having.

If Beretta offered a stock G model in their 90-series lineup, I think the Beretta would gain more of a following. But since they don't, I'm happy to see Wilson offering the conversion. If I purchase another Beretta 90-series pistol, it will almost certainly be making a trip to Wilson for the G conversion along with some other goodies.

If Wilson can do that kind of work on a Beretta 92/96, imagine what they could do to a BHP!

Hmmmm....
Wonder if Bills been checking out my FB page.. :)

It's a shame they are not removing some of the roll marks thou.

The commercially sold M-9 and M-9A1 versions don't have the 92FS obscene roll marks with all the literature about reading the manuals, a lot less reading material on the slide and dustcover ...

Now that I've seen those pics, I guess I have to order some of the sweet grips from Wilson's ...

Unfortunately, they also do not come with the rounded trigger guard. (the reason I bought that particular A1)

I picked up a "new to me" Elite 1A; its a Brigadier, Vertec frame "G" model:

I'll be sending it to WC for at the very least an action tune and ArmorTuff coating of the frame in their bronze color. Something like this pic they posted:
