Got a Winchester 1000x high powered air rifle today. 1000 fps or so the box claims. It weighs 7.4 lbs with the scope and rings so it's not a lightweight by any means and has every bit a full size stock. It is manufactured by Daisy for Winchester and bears both names on the receiver. My 1 minute review would say it feels like a quality piece, is reasonably accurate for a hunting-class air rifle and certainly hits with a considerable wallop but the trigger is... just barely better than abyssmal. But I kind of like it like that. I generally only shoot air rifles at about 20 - 60 yards and a bad trigger helps with trigger control and anticipation.
Scope is a BSA Contender in 3-12x40 with an adjustable objective previously mounted on my AR15. Certainly bright and clear up to about 8x and I can't really see using much more power than that. Actually, it seems to look better at about 6x than it does at 3x or 4x. The adjustable objective is nice for an air rifle. Not sure how long it will last on a spring air rifle but it'll do for now.
Overall, for $80 I'd say it's probably pretty top notch but If you can swing twice the price, something like the RWS 34 would no doubt be much nicer and still on a relative budget.
