For a similar size and weight gun? Shootability. Less recoil. Quicker double taps.
My .32 mag revolver is easier to shoot and less painful than my same weight .38 special revolver launching +P loads. Both being low capacity guns.
Look at the muzzle rise on the single stack G36.

Look I will be the first to admit 9mm is going to be “easier” to shoot with faster follow ups then .40/.357SIG/.45 etc. but that picture is a weeee bit exaggerated. With a modicum of recoil control experience the Glock 30/36 certainly are nowhere near the “wrist breakers” that photo implies.
While recoil and follow up times are absolutely a thing the difference in handling between all the NORMAL martial calibers in NORMAL guns isn’t orders of magnitude different. Now a scandium .44 magnum vs a steel 627 shooting .38 then yes there is a fairly huge difference. A Glock 19 vs a 30…..ehh notsomuch.
This is not a dig on the 9mm nor is it a “.45 kills yer soul!!!!!” Kind of thing. Just pointing out that the difference in handling one way or the other with a modicum of training isn’t. YUUUUUGGEEEE.
