About 5 years ago i knew a guy who was going through a devorce and sold some guns for quick cash and to keep his ex-wife from them I got from him a norinco sks only shot once and a skb 505 o/u which i recently blue booked at $1200. got them both for $400 total, so I would say I made money on that deal.

My best deal was my Savage 67E. I found it at Dave's Guns in Denver priced at $100. Since I wasn't sure of the rules for out of state long gun purchases at the time, I asked if he was able to sell me one. After affirming this, I offered him $80. He took the offer after some hesitation, and ran the BG check. It was then that I noticed that there was no serial number. This shottie is an oldie, and predates that requirement. It isn't the shiniest gun in the house, but it works quite well, and continues to be the least expensive one I've purchased to date.

I dont have many.....but a few. Im not going to count firearms given to me by family members.....gifts arent deals.

Winchester model 121 - made around 1967ish. This gun looks like it just came off the rack. Paid $64 for it.

Got a $20 garage sale 1st Gen Colt Pocket Navy conversion a few years back, it had been chopped for concealed carry ages ago.

Had several good deals over the years, but the most recent was a minty condition 2.5" Ruger SP101 in .357 I found on consignment at my local dealer. $250.

$75 for an arsenel refurb #1 Mk3 SMLE. 1918 dated with an unfired 1955 barrel! From a Pawn Shop even. Had a heck of a time getting the cosmo off!

A Beretta BL4 w/matching barrel sets was a gift from my folks in 1976:)

Winchester Featherweight 257 Roberts, about 300 in the late 80's, a post 64 model of course

SW Lou Horton 44m mag with RB for about 300.00 in the late 80's

Rem 788 in 22-250 for 170 in 1981 from Best Co, was a good dep store in Va at the time

I got an NIB Bulgarian Makarov for $149. I got a Marlin 81DL with original factory peep sights for $30. My most recent that I am proud of is my new to me Mossberg 146B with original peeps and intact front sights, 90-95% condition. $100 out the door.

Not MY best deal, but my father picked up a transferable, intact-mum Type 99 Nambu from a vet (who had brought it home and stuck it in his hardware store window for years) a few years ago...for $400.

1976 time frame bought a Browning A-5 Light and a Remington Nylon .22 for 75 bucks for both. Sold the Remington for 75 bucks. The A-5 was made 1939. Has original blue finish and stock with the A-5 crack. Still kills dove. Now I have 5 A-5s including a 3" magum. Still looking for a Sweet 16 deal.

My Dad gave me a Pre-64 Winchester Model 70 in .243 Win for a Christmas gift right when I was discharged from the Navy. I believe he regifted it to me after some of his co-workers gave it to him. He did not know what it was. I realized what it was when I brought it home. I had just joined the NRA in the early 80's and the first issue of Rifleman had the serial numbers of the Pre-64 rifles in it.

I thanked him and told him what it was and he asked for it back.

Sorry, Dad. No can do.

S&W M&P9C, $399 at Cabela's. It was stickered at $499, but at the time they just happened to have a Cabela's Club Visa promotion wherein you could take $100 off a purchase of $400 or more, and I just happen to have a Cabela's Club Visa. :) And this one is a keeper, too.

Not quite in the same category (because I didn't keep it long): a gently used Glock 27 for $299. I disliked its recoil and sold it.

I bought a FAL for $300 shipped with a bunch of mags. Not a KIT a GUN.

It is clean and so dead on I put a scope on it.
