Been watching them go on gb for sub 200 3x in the last couple weeksSo do I honestly, I'd rather start with an old flatback 110. Not that I've been able to find one of those locally in years.

And respectfully the .270wsm still interests me most in an R1 configuration but eventually the bolt may get a nod. The .250 ai is mostly for the youngest daughter (that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it lol, but she's shooting south paw so gonna haveta build that one anyway) however if the .250AI is gonna haveta find a new home to make room for this new abomination (perish the thought) my family and I will have to step up and offer it our humble abode.......That an offer?
And you've still got a .250AI to collect
Get a 45 Raptor barrel. Uses 460 S&W dies and load data, made from 308 brass, and will fit in the existing magazine.

Sounds like she really wants a lefty model 7 with a remage barrel system.......250ai now, 6.5 or 7mm creedmoor later. And respectfully the .270wsm still interests me most in an R1 configuration but eventually the bolt may get a nod. So magnum bolt head? Does it have the claw extractor too?
Now that we are jumping into the .277s, I will throw this out there. Not sure it will fit in the action, but I have been saying that if I blow out my .270 barrel (might have already happened) I would try to cram in a .277 Weatherby. I don’t like belted magnums, but have to admit that a super duper .270 would be pretty sweet.
I don’t recall any votes for 6.8spc either, but where there is room for long action, long action rounds seem fitting.
That would be nearly sacrilegious! It would need to be in little classier rifle.saw some 7x61 sharp and hart ammo today, this got me thinking
You tempt me sir!I was thinking an 8.59 Titan in a reworked Rem 700 made into a 660-like carbine
Oh its still fun, even @Riomouse911 's idea sounds fun.....to watch.Hey LoonWulf, I tuned in late to this one and just read the first page so far. Then it hit me... your buddy's for sale rifle... not only is it an Axis you don't like, but it's already a .308 too. From what you said, I don't know how you're going to get further off the Rez, which is normally supposed to be fun.
While I'd love to, and you KNOW I'd be pestering you about it, if it we're an option, we can't have them here.Make it an integrally suppressed project.
I'm not familiar with the GL variants?I could've done without that stupid center-feed crap... just aggravating to load, and while you can just single-load, you can't drop in a single-shot follower.
I'm probably gonna use the 245mbcs again, they shot well from my 300aac.i would like to try the lee bullet for the 300 blk. with powder coating works nice and let u run more fps. i have a ss 700 bdl with a 5r mili spec barrel in a b&c medalist stock, on top is a swfa ss10 with leupold mark 4 base with prq rings. it is fun to shoot and keeps u from getting bored with more of a flat shooter. for the axis trigger i shim them and they come out very nice.
I'd actually forgotten that you could get them with sights lol.GL variants... G - Hunter series, L - Left handed.
G series used to come with a wood stock. Also used to have barrel-mounted sights up until about 2008, AFAIK.
I'd actually forgotten that you could get them with sights lol.
My first savage was a wood stocked 7mag, that I got in highschool (99) for 275 with a cheap Simmons scope lol.
I still have some of those sabots from when I had a 300aac. Might have to try them again.Go .308. Shoot 50gr .224 Sierra blitzkings in sabot to rediculous speeds, think 4,000 FPS+
Days of the open sighted bolt rifle seem to have passed. To bad that, even if I didn't use them I LIKE the way sights look.Appearantly Savage forgot too.
Could be this from MCarboI still have some of those sabots from when I had a 300aac. Might have to try them again.

Picked up the rifle this afternoon, feels like it might already have an aftermarket trigger or spring pack, of some sort.
