I'm pretty sure the depressurization from a bullet hole is not quite the issue that we're making it out to be here.
I'm willing to leave the matter in the hands of each individual airline. There are other systems critical to flight that you might not want to put holes in. Feul tanks, hydraulic fluid, control wiring, etc.
Although I would disagree with an establishments decision to have a policy against carry I would support their right to take such position. Imho that is what's bestIf those were all government run, then yes. But when privately operated then most likely no as per ownership rules.
This would never happen, in the case of airlines. They wouldn't put themselves at the risk of civil liability, if there was shooting on board. Nor would their insurers allow them to have such a policy. If they likewise permit firearms on their premises I'll abide by that.
I think that's where I'm at with it too. I voted undecided, but a train and bus is an absolute YES, but I think some jack wagon ND'ing his brand new to him CC into the cabin walls/windows and taking a plane down would be a major poke in the rear for our cause, not to mention Hyjackers and the sad mentally ill would make "plane shooter" a common term, just as "school shooter" is.I voted YES but NO on a plane.
Don’t want to poke holes in a pressurized cabin.

If it was on the ballot though, I would vote in favor of it since I'm against pretty much all restrictions, but that doesnt mean I think it's a great idea to let just anyone carry on a plane. My grandmother accidentally brought her lil Mustang with her into Bradley back in the late 70's and at the checkpoint the man asked her if she had a vehicle that she could return the gun to, she was allowed to walk back out through the airport and put the gun in her pickup.
It's only a good bit of luck and interagency cooperation between US and UK that the would be peroxide bombers plot was foiled. Extremely skilled investigators and surveillance teams were able to dismantle the operation just in the nick of time..... I don't travel by plane at all, and probably never will, not being able to carry would be pretty uncomfortable for me around so many people, so far from home. They haven't succeeded since 9/11.
But I saw it happen in the moviesHello ,Dusty. I understand your confliction. But talk to the experts in the field. The chance of a ND or even multiple shots disabling a commercial airliner are close to nil.
My son works for a major airline, knows the technical personnel, and none of them believe in a Doomsday scenario of that type.
But I saw it happen in the movies
U.S. Marshalls I think was the title, with Tommy Lee Jones, convict in custody touches off a lil .22lr zip gun and blows out a huge section of the cabin.....
if they knew we all carried a gun?
They don't have shall not be infringed.Do you know how the other amendments are restricted?
The 1st is famously described as “it is not OK to yell ‘fire’ in a crowded theater”
The 4th doesn’t cover your trash can or smells emanating from your house or car.
Pretty much each one has limits of some sort.
Exactly bullets are not going to cause explosive decompression. But history shows that hijacking is the reason guns aren't allowed on planes. Hijacking is bad for the passengers.Hello ,Dusty. This is how it should work. Property and Business owners can ask you to leave. A number of states have no enforceable signs. The response of a shopper who was armed to a mass shooter in an Indianapolis area mall which was posted with unenforceable signs is an example. You can, if you own them….
I don’t think the .gov should force the owners of the property to do anything they don’t want to though. If you want to, get your own and you can set the rules.
Also don’t have to stand in the lines…
