Looks a lot like it was buffed out creating the rounding and then sprayed with Duracoat

Very Fine steel wool 0000 and good gun oil. Do not rub too hard or you will remove the bluing. Get as much surface rust off as you can and keep a heavy coat of oil on it till you decide want you want done

I see rust on those all the time. I would suggest using a good wax to help prevent any more rust

If you are going to do it it yourself I would suggest using something like Gunkote you can buy from Brownells. The key to refinishing is the prep work. If you want rust and corrosion protection I would also suggest parkerizing it first. If I can help or answer any questions feel free to ask

You can have the gun Bead Blasted which will dull the look of the Stainless depending on what size glass beads are used

I would suggest that you Parkerize it first then use Gunkote it is better then Duracoat and better then Cerakote but the Parkerization will help with the rust and corrosion resistance

Those Auto Mags all had a very rough blasted finish on them. You can use the rust to get a lower price I hope then I would have the gun Bead Blasted
