A couple shops about 75 minutes away were having some good sales today, so a friend and I hit the road.
I picked up this new “ no lock” model 442 today for $339.71. My buddy got a brand new first generation Shield for 269.71

Trigger is not bad at all to me. My regular EDC for the past 5 years has been a model 638. I have shot it a lot . The 442 trigger feels just a tad lighter than my 638 and the pull is as smooth as silk

I have the same gun I bought from Keely Arms. I haven't shot it yet but was just looking at it an hour ago. The trigger on mine feels crisp and snappy like it will wack a primer with plenty of force. I like it.

I bet you like that gun. IIRC they weigh 15oz unloaded and just drop in your front pocket to be forgotten until needed.

I have been carrying the 638 for 5 years. I have probably run at least 2000 rounds through it and pocket carry is my preferred method. I have been thinking that if it broke, I wouldn't have a pocket revolver to carry. When I saw the sale flyer on these I figured I had better take advantage of the good price to get a back up for my 638

Nice back-up to your Model 638! I found my Model 638 on sale as well and the trigger was so nice (as was the overall build quality), I couldn't pass it up! It makes for a nice lightweight, warm weather option to go with my other J frame, a Model 649.

Bannockburn, I really like the way your 649 is set up. The magna grips with Tyler T really gives it the Old School Cool look!

I tried a few different grips on the Model 649 but I always kept coming back to the factory wood grips with the Tyler T-Grip as being the best all-around set-up for concealment and control.

Nice score. I have a 90s ladysmith that I use for carry. Never felt undergunned and I am a big fan of these little J frames. I keep mine loaded with Winchester 110 +p hollow point .38 special. I am not a fan of .357s in such a small gun.

Nice little gun at a great price. I have owned a 340PD for a decade and it is still my go to carry revolver. Right now it sits in a velcroed holster inside of the closet by the front door.

E812F1B6-6B6D-4B8C-BCE0-60CB3593AC07.jpeg I got my new 442 out to the range yesterday. It ran great and the grips from my m60 pro really soaked up the recoil. Here is a picture of the gun with those grips
A friend had purchased a first gen Shield ($269.71) the same time I bought the 442 so we both went out to the shale pit to shoot our new guns. We set up our range with 3 paper targets and 3 steel plates. The 2 farthest plates were at 35 yards.

I had the revolver loaded with plus P, 158gr Hornady XTPs so I used those for the first 5 shots. This was standing with a 2 handed grip at 6 yards, slow fire

Needless to say, I was happy with the results. I ran 15 of the 158gr Plus P, another 15 with a 125gr Plus P XTP and 50 of my midrange reloads with a 158gr plated bullets. Had no problem reaching out and ringing the 35yard steel. Great gun!

It's hard to pass on a deal like that. Fin, Feather, & Fur had a special back in January, $319.99 for 442/642. You're only up measly $ compared to a Rossi.
