Walker case

Post 1923 shows the case that my Walker came with. It is quite similar if not identical. One of the other original posts describing the gun on July 11th or 12th on another thread listed a link to a manufacturer of the presentation cases.

Mine is pegged with rectangles of wood at the corners for an all wood construction (no nails). I am very satisfied with the case. It was a major factor in my decision to purchase the pistol and I am as pleased with the case as I am with the Walker.

Higene

;)

PS I too am missing the ball mold. I am looking for the original style metal ball mold. I am considering a nipple wrench, compass ( for measuring groups) or other appropriate gizmo to put in that spot.

here are pic,s of the box and revolver, case is a blond wood, with no nails the, corners are mortised. the inserts are, the top is a foam rubber with red velvet cover, the bottom is a white plastic insert with sprayed on red velvet(reminds me of the old interiour of s&w wood boxes). has hidden hinges and a key lock with two compartments with little brass lifters. on another forum some one said the boxes go for 225.00 from dixie. the revolver is a dixieguns works import made by armi san marco gardone vt and it looks unfired.flask is of brass and made in italy,it had no mold or nipple wrench. i bought it at a flea market. last pic is of the 8th deer (a doe) i killed with a flint lock, i,m up to 19 now.eastbank.

Good lookin' Walker/Case there eastbank... nice smoke-pole and doe too.

Buddy's Walker

Can I join the club?

I bought this Uberti Walker a few years ago at a gun show for a bargain price of $225.00 in Columbia, SC. I did the same work on my lever spring that mukluk shows on page 2 post #41. Like he says, a few minutes with a file and no more lever drop even with 60 grains. We came up with the same idea independently so I can imagine that maybe someone could have done something similar back in the 1800's with their Walker.

And, a FINE cased Walker it is too !!! Nice to hear it doesn't think its box is the whole of its world... good shootin' that puppy !!

Thanks,

My feeling is that for me guns are for shootin' not for lookin', but there's nothing wrong with just lookin' if that's what you like.

I have an Armi San Marco 1847 Walker that shoots about 2' high at 25 yds with 55gr of FFFg. Can anyone tell me how to replace the front sight with a taller one and where could I find a taller one?

Thanks

Agree. Its made to shoot high. Use the same load at 50 yards and you will be hitting right on the money. go back to 1847 when the enemy is on a horse between 25-50 yards and you will be aiming right in that spot and getting results.

Any Carcass

I ever created wouldn't have made much difference 2" either way :D
55 grains is hardly a target load , so am assuming your just wanting massive punishment to anything you hit at 25 yards ?
Ummm , ever thought about filing the sight notch in the hammer a bit lower , you'll be good to go :D

Jaeger

91 members, that has got to be a record.
and my post makes 1999 posts.
That is outstanding.
Who is going to be 2000?
That is a lot of fine shootin irons:)

Husker

is probably the magic number 2001 :D And if he hurries, he is number 92 in members with his newly aquired Taylors Cannon . :D

Jaeger

PS.....tha tis a pile of Walkers there ! Would be one hell of a volley of lead all at once, especaily since most of us own more than one ! And I can shoot two handed just fine :D

.

This is my Uberti Walker built from a kit and rust browned. Shoots 60g FFFg and RB and is dead on at 25yds. Sometimes drops lever.
