What is your dream revolver?

Boy I don't know, there are several wheelguns I really want. If I could buy one right now, it would be a blued steel (with that rich, deep bluing) Centennial, a gold bead up front, and wearing Spegels. A good smooth action job for the street.

This would teamup well with any good blued S&W 2" to 4" .38/.357; K, L, or N frame - take your pick.

I've heard that there are some serious pressure differences between .455 Webly and .45ACP, and that a cut-down .455 cylinder might be very unsafe for use with .45ACP.

Plus, I'd rather not have to use moonclips.

That's true, if you're gonna shoot .45 ACP in a shaved Webley, then you need to load your own rounds.

But owning a .455 Webley Mk VI is a much better option (I love mine!).

Cheers! M2

Finally
Finally got mine. S&W M57, no dash, Pinned and recessed mint condition at a price I could affored....

Hope you didn't pay too much. I just sold one of mine a while ago. Having two just seemed greedy.

A minty H.H. Harris 5" 29 with mastodon ivory grips.

Modern Webley Mk VI designed to handle .45 acp in moonclips. Heck, scandium frame 3" round butt with CT grips while we're at it.

Could you get a 5 shot .45acp cylinder on a K frame?

S&W 27, 5 screw, 3.5" bbl. Beautiful pistol.

But really, a Webley-Fosbery in .38 cal (eight shot cylinder) would be way cool. What's not to like about an automatic revolver? (Except the weight, funky functioning, and the fact that, if ever found one, I couln't afford it. Still, takes me right back to Sam Spade and the Maltese Falcon.)

Well I got my DW's 722, 715, 744, & 15, my S&W's 610 no dash 5" 610-3 6.5", 686-8 5" unfluted cylinder, K-22 Mod 48 no dash Target Masterpiece with unfired LR cylinder. Now all I need is the 610 3" (won't pay price or could have had one a year ago) so next big want is a S&W 310 or maybe 610-3 4" not sure which. Would not mind a NIB DW 741 either.

My NIB DW 715 is a beauty, sure wish DW would make these again.

Here is the best shooting 357 a guy could own, DW M-15 sporting the 6" barrel.

44 Auto Mag.

How about a moon clipped N frame chambered in 44 Automag.
That would handle most gun games, target work, hunting and defence.

Well, I have the start of my dream revolver.

A S&W model 19 4" bbl. She has a little holster wear for character. I'll leave it, she worked hard for it.

Next she needs some nice elk grips like Grasshorns Gunworks make, a T-grip to save my knuckles, and just a touch of engraving.

I'm easy, I just want a revolver identical to the S&W Pre-27 in looks, fit, finish, and quality with an 8 round capacity and a 6 1/2" barrel.

Actually, 2 revolvers:
(1) Have Ruger re-engineer the GP-100 to take a 5 shot cylinder in .45ACP/Colt and retain the removable front sight. I would add a Bowen rear sight, gold bead front, have the action tuned and all.
(2) A real dream would be a 5" barrel Anaconda using the Python lockwork. This would be in .45 Colt. Add a gold bead front and Elliason or Champion rear sight.

How about a 4" blued J Frame in .38 Special (or .357) with adjustable sights and no underlug?

Or a half-lug .357 4" SP101 with adjustable sights?

s&w 642 modified for 9mm (strengthened cylinder, moonclips & .355 barrel) w/crimson trace lg-402, flat black finish of some sort (park, anodized, etc), tritium painted front sight, a smoother trigger, & no lock. Would load it with longer/heavier than normal SWC-HP-GC soft lead handloads. Load development would be a lot of fun, and hopefully the end product would be a nice little SD gun.

More than one, actually. I want a complete set of Colt snake guns in all barrel lengths and finishes. As long as I'm dreaming, might as well dream big.

I guess I am strange, but my first S&W was - and still may just be - my idea of a perfect revolver. My wife shocked me with it on vacation over seven years ago - a new 625-7 Mountain Gun in .45 Colt. I fitted it with nice Ahrends square conversion fg-ed cocobolo stocks and some lighter effort springs. It is just the perfect shooter. Puff shots with mild .45 Schoffields to .45 Colt 'cowboy' plinkers to meaning business 255gr LSWC or 250gr GDJHPs at approaching 900 fps, it is a delightful shooter. Without my basement ammo factory, it would be virtually impractical - a 625JM and it's 'buy me anywhere' .45 ACP ammo diet being easier and more frugal to keep fed.

Being a true realist is often tough. I thought a 4" 627 8-shooter would be ideal - two ammos to choose from - .38 plinkers & .357M hotter loads. It may just be ideal. Moonclipped for faster protective reloads - or plate poppers. Retro Target Ahrends grips - a HiViz front sight - one do all real world 'dream' revolver. Or... would it be a X10 617 .22LR?? Cheap to shoot... fun... what kind of dreams do you really have? I'll leave the oddballs - the Korths - to others. I'll live Sheryl Crowe's words; "... it's not having what you want - but wanting what you have!".

My dreams? I'd like to find some affordable Federal primers.

I never thought I would have one of these but the gun gods smiled on me this year and I not only found a re-blued one, but an owner who would take a couple long guns I'll never shoot again in trade.

Variously called the 1st Model 44 Hand Ejector, New Century or most commonly the Triple Lock, this one has a 5" barrel and was shipped to Cincinnati, OH in 1914.

Many, myself included, consider this the finest revolver ever made. As the foundation for the whole N-Frame S&W line, and the grand pappy of the Model 29 44 Magnum, it's certainly the first in a long line of legendary handguns.

I have two ideal revolvers and can't choose between the two. One would be a Freedom Arms model 97 in .327 federal magnum with a 7.5" barrel and the other one is a Ruger Redhawk 4" barrel in .45colt.

oh man..... that 8" Dan Wesson was the first handgun i´ve ever shot .....

i´d so love to OC that!

4" 5 shot .357, fixed sight, built in LED light with pressure switch on grip.
