What is your favorite revolver that YOU OWN? (Please include pic if possible.)
Not your dream gun but the one that just seems to always end up in the range bag or fondled while watching a western, or sitting on the front porch or whatever.
I'll start with mine. 20200107_195631~3.jpg
It's the 45 Colt El Patron. (Bottom) with honorable mention going to my 357 El Patron (Top).
I showed you mine now let's see yours.

My favorite of the revolvers I own is a 38 Special Colt Police Positive 4th issue. ColtPP4thCustomShopInc.jpg

I found this photo on the internet. My gun is in decent shape, but not mint, and I only wish I could take photos like this.

I like it because the grips fit my hand very well, both the DA and SA trigger pulls are good, the sights suit me, and I can shoot pretty well with it. Also, to me, it is the best looking medium frame revolver ever made (an entirely personal opinion, I admit).

It is a Detective Special of the same era with a longer barrel and bigger grips. As I understand it, Colt dropped it when they found they could sell all the Diamondbacks they could make and the profit margin was bigger on a Diamondback. (The Diamondback is this gun with a Python treatment.) The grip frame is the same as the Detective Special, so you can put any DS grips you want on it, BTW.

PS - did you know that "shap" is a word? I left the "e" off "shape", and it did not get a red underline. Proofreading pays!

I agree with mcb about moon clips, at least in N-frame S&Ws. High up on my list of favorite revolvers is the S&W Model 22-4, a reissue of the 1950's version of a 4-inch fixed sight 45ACP revolver. I rank it under the Colt Police Positive 4th issue even though the trigger is better because I cannot find grips that fit me well for it, and 45ACP kicks a bit more than I really like. But moon clips are great (until I bend them :( ).

Sistema1927, I am glad to hear the Kimbers are good revolvers. They appeal to me, and I keep thinking about getting one. Maybe one of the new target versions. I'd like to actually handle one first, though, and I have not been getting to gun stores or gun shows much lately.

Very hard to say. I think it would be my 30-1, but the 10-6 is a close second if we are talking modern guns that are used for serious work. If we include antiques then it gets more problematic because the 38 safety hammerless has more blood sweat and tears in it than any other gun I own because it took a lot to get it together properly. The S&W 38 single action is just stinkin cool and fun, but the 32 safety hammerless is probably the prettiest of the bunch. Then again the buntline is just awesome so I can’t rule it out. If I ever get my Colt New Line together then it has potential just because it’s laughably small and is a legit Colt from 1873.
