Your favorite CCW - why?

I think there is an 8-shot .38 Special by Ruger. That would be a good carry if one is not pocket carrying. Or a S&W 686+ at 7-shots.

7042A47D-0617-447D-82A4-418DF3143A2B.jpeg J-frame for me (recently moved from my weathered 340 M&P to the even lighter 340 PD) as a BUG every day at work. Off duty I MOSTLY carry a P365 XL with a reload, but… sometimes I get lazy and carry the 340 instead.

When I’m hiking around and the bears are up, I pack my 3” King Cobra with 180g hardcast.

Easily my favorite carry revolver is my S&W model 36, 1968 model iirc.
I can put it IWB in a High Noon Mr. Softy and the grip (factory) just peaks up above the belt, a loosely tucked shirt hides it fine, good and comfy and really a pleasure to shoot.

That said I still don’t carry it a whole lot.

A couple of steel frame Charter Undercovers. Only carry one at a time. Got a coat for Christmas with holsters inside, so often carry a Shield or G43 in addition to the revolver if I wear the coat.

Got one of the Charters because I didn't want my little Smith M37 to end up in an evidence locker. Liked it so much I bought a second. Like 'em both. Now I don't want the Charters to end up in an evidence locker.

Pocket carry the revolvers.

For revolvers this is one of my favorites:

Model 13-4 3" .357 Magnum (VZ G-10 stocks)

And this one:

Model 625-3 3" .45 ACP (Pachmayr stocks)

For holsters I like the Milt Spark PMK

Oh you lucky dog! :) I have those grips on a 686P, non-snag with cover garments, also, the 65-5/4" is my current carry, very comfortable shooting with Norma 158gr JHPs

Some consider the 625/3" to be the best CCW, have you loaded 225gr wadcutters in 45 Auto Rim?

I post this description for the 45 AR/225gr WCs because of its performance capability for us very rural types and its straight line trajectory through brush should the need arise for big predatory critters, those that migrate to the valley from surrounding mountain wilderness. Then there's also the 255gr SWCs. :)

For handloaders, Rim Rock bullets makes the 225gr WCs for Buffalo Bore and Starline brass at a decent price point, use the same 45 auto dies with an AR shell holder; HKS makes speed loaders for the often overlooked 45 Auto Rim.

My Dan Wesson 14-2 with a 3" EWK extra-heavy barrel and factory combat grip . I carried this revolver for years on armed posts with its factory 4" barrel and a Pachmayr grip so I'm just used to it. Switching to the shorter barrel and smaller grip let me drop it into a front pocket for true concealed carry. Preferred ammo is Barnes 140gr Vor-Tx. The heavy barrel shroud really tames the recoil.
My wife has a SCCY CPX-2 with Federal 147gr HST's (non-+P's). With over 500 rounds, it's been rock solid dependable.

What? No pictures?

When I carry a revolver, I usually favor my Colt Detective Special.
I will rarely carry my Ruger SP101 3", or the S&W 19 that I picked up cheap as somebody had shortened the barrel, and done a few more modifications as well as a re-blueing.

I usually pocket carry a snub, but I do have a "hiking piece" that's a little larger.

Taurus Model 82 (K frame) with 3" barrel. I lightened the springs, put a set of boot grips on it, and removed the hammer spur.

It's nice for OWB when I'm out in the woods with my dogs. I've spent most of my life shooting service revolvers, so I'm extremely comfortable with it. When my dominant hand was disabled, it was one of the few handguns I could shoot decently with just my left hand.

I'd had many 4" K-frames and a couple of 2", but this was my first 3" and I really like that barrel length. It balances and points better for me than the 2" or 4". I lucked out and the boot grips I ordered fit my hands perfectly (I tuck my pinky anyway, and they have a perfect spot for that). Not everyone would be a fan of this one, but it happens to fit me extremely well.

My 5" 625 is a fantastic firearm, but I'm not willing to carry it around.

I currently cc a Wilson 1911 in 45 or a P365 weather depending. There's always room in my safe for 3" revolvers. Have several, looking for a model 13 3".

Colt KC is working its way into rotation as a bug to the Wilson, have a sweet shooting Smith 60 that gets dropped in a jacket pocket from time to time. It's a fast drawing little booger.

I seem to be immune to recoil as I shoot full tilt magnums about as well as 38+P according to the timer. Follow up shots are a bit slower with the 60. Then again, maybe I'm just equally slow with everything. ;)

The S&W 60 gets the nod when in a tux, carried in a Ken Null SMZ. Nice setup with a little practice.
