"I assume you're talking about the Wannamacher?"
Oops! Yes, that is correct; I did not realize that there were more than one show held in those months.
Thanks for the replies! I'll go in November, as planned, and will likely return in 2013!
Nando
I have not been to these shows, and wondered if there has been a difference in participation or vendor presence between the April and November shows.
I am thinking about going to the November show this year.
Thx!

Although I have been shooting and reloading rifles, handguns and shotguns for over 40 years, including competing in all three disciplines, I have never had any experience with black powder weapons. (As I just recently learned that the later are not considered firearms?)
I am now considering...
"...but how would i find a list of upcoming gunshows in my area?
Answer: Google "gun shows in st. louis" > http://www.stlweaponcollectors.com/
Enjoy and safe shooting!
...and the field-of-view would not be a concern to me. However, I really couldn't appreciate its performance in low light. I know that the smaller* Ø32mm lenses would not be as good, but when you said that this one is not great in low light, did you mean this specific one, or any Ø32mm in...
One of my Christmas presents was a Tikka T3 Lite .300 WSM rifle. (It included the scope rings, by the way, and they are of the 'short' variety.) To start breaking it in, I installed an old Simmons scope that I was not using.
Now I am considering a Burris 4.5-16x32 Short Mag Ballistic Plex...

Actually, I received everything as expected, and was pleasantly surprised to see that the rifle comes with scope rings. Does anyone have any experience with these rings? They seem to be somewhat low, and I won't get a chance to try to use them until the weekend.
Will appreciate any...
Santa Claus will be leaving a new Tikka T3 Lite .300 WSM under the tree tonight. It will also leave new Redding dies and some brass, together with a couple of boxes of Winchester .300 WSM (180-gr) to get started.
After I break in the barrel with the commercial Winchester ammo, and preliminary...
Gun Control in Cuba Before Castro = No Guns With Castro
I know. I was there. I fought. I was caught in 1961. Finally made it to an orphanage in the USA, and I couldn't have been happier!!!! Then I turned 16.
In Cuba, through 01 January 1959, Fulgencio Batista Zaldivar (common dictator)...

In regards to the military restrictions - that is not a problem. Last year, after he got back from Iraq from his third tour*, I asked his son what he thought his dad would like to have for his BD, and I said "a really good present for his service", and he said that his...
We are getting close now, and it does appear that transporting the pistol as I will do and then having an FFL do the transfer would be perfectly fine. I could even ship it myself to an FFL and it would be legal:

Thanks for you replies and comments.
You brought up good points, so allow me to clarify several.

My son is stationed in Texas, but owns his home off base where he lives with his family. He has been a resident of Texas for several years.

Hello folks, it's been a while since I visited THR (too much work!) but I am back...
I have already checked the TSA and specific airline regulations, and I can meet them OK. As a matter of fact, I flew from Missouri to Texas recently to shoot in a match, and then brought the guns back with...
A co-worker was taking about his adventures with his Barrett .50 cal rifle. I arrived when the conversation already was underway, but gathered these bits: he uses 186-gr bullets, and has chronographed them at over 5,000 fps. Since I did not know what had been said before I arrived, I did not...
I was planning to go compete (HP Service Rifle) this year for the first time, but had conflicts. All I can do is to go Saturday and Sunday 4 & 5 August to look around and see what it is all about in person.
I understand that there usually are a number of vendors showing their goods, but...
For Cabela's
I can get to the Mills in about 10 minutes just about anytime. There is an excellent theater (Regal 18) there as well.
For the NRA convention
I take 40 East to go downtown, and I know it is heavy traffic. Then there is parking, which will be a lot worse Friday than on Saturday...
I'm taking Friday as vacation day to go either to Cabela's opening (at the Mills) or to the NRA convention, and then go to the 'other' one on Saturday.
I imagine that since Friday is a regular workday, traffic will be heavier than it would be on Saturday - especially early in the morning...
Yes, and I just learned that Lyman states that such adapter is included with their No. 55 powder measure.
Well, I have the habit of keeping all the original boxes and documents of all tools, etc. I buy, and looked at the box for my No.55, but there was no adapter; just two drop tubes and a...
A reviewer of the Lee Classic Turret Press included this comment:
"...The 4 hole turret has a space for my Lyman 55 powder measure (using the 7/8x14 drop tube adapter) and this improved my loading speed."
Does anyone know what this "7/8x14 drop tube adapter" is and where I can buy one...
